OldSchool38
After getting sick of Comcast making it's annual changes to charges on my internet and forcing me to have to re-sign onto a new plan to keep my expenses down, I recently got rid of my cable service. Now I connect to the internet on my Linux and Windows 7 machines via USB tethering using my new OnePlus Nord N200 5G (expensive, but the recent G changes in signals forced me to ditch my old Samsung). 60 gigs a month (then forced slowdown after that) isn't bad if you can control your Youtube addiction. Now I was fooling around with another old computer of mine and was wondering if I could do the same kind of connection with Windows Vista 64 bit, or is it too old an OS to use? UCyborg
Vista is the first Windows with USB tethering support out-of-the-box.
jumper
Also, if you network the machines together, Win7 can probably share the internet connection with older systems.
OldSchool38
I tried tethering with Vista again, but no luck. However I found a Type-C to Gigabit Ethernet Adapter on ebay that I used to connect to the computer's ethernet port and it worked fine. However for me now it's a dead issue, after finding the cellular data plan wasn't working well with my needs, I wen't back to Comcast cable so it's a cable connection for me again.
