WULover
The engine.htm is the core of Windows Update v3, so I will check all the details of this file to know what files are needed. One of the site releases (R1097) have all pages, but wu still doesn't work and stops me with a critical error. It also ask me if I want to download the critical components installer package (the file is attached) Is it not working because I have a french system and I use the english site? Edit: I tried with an english system and it still doesn't work advpack.exe Edited April 30, 2022 by WULover

WULover
Why you want to restore v4? For Windows XP, we can use v6, and for older versions, v3

WULover
Windows 95 can't use v4. It can use v3. WU v4 support win98 to XP. Not 95 or NT4.
