but in the case of Google, what? (currently, nothing!) ...

Some backups exist already --> https://www.reddit.com/r/chrome_extensions/comments/xn4ypi/we_need_to_backup_all_the_mv2_extensions/

Hopefully they can be accessed without problems at the time Google makes its moves.

Aplogies for the late reply. Having met with an accident, I was out of action for the past several months.

1. FontFaimly value in registry is "Calibri"

2. "Microsoft Sans Serif" is installed in my OS

3. Running 360EE on WinXP

Thanks & Regards,

mgpai

I hope everything is going well for you.

You are the first person that I see that has that FontFamily value. Can look at your installed fonts to see which fonts have in their name "Calibri" and share them?

Cheers.

Thanks for that :) ; that reddit post was only created ca. 11 days ago, so it was missed by my "radar" ;) ... But, nothing completely new is there :( ...
crx4chrome is known to me since many years and it's the best, because it contains signed extensions in .CRX format as (originally) published in the CWS, plus, for a specific extension, may contain an archive of its previous releases :cheerleader:; but it doesn't contain ALL CWS extensions, simply the most popular/endorsed ones...

https://extpose.com/explore/

and

https://crxcavator.io/

seem to only offer source-code zips of extensions; and the first site, only for the latest release of them (at least in the "free plan" version of that service) ...

Thankfully, 360EE doesn't object to non-CWS-signed extensions, so it can install user-created CRX files without nagging they "didn't come from the CWS :angry:"...

What I suggested we need is community-driven, orchestrated efforts to salvage all MV2 chromium extensions and make them available, in a freely accessible manner, to retrocomputing users/fans... However, as pointed inside the reddit article, some extensions' licencing might be restrictive in that "archiving" context :dubbio:...

I'm doing  fine now. Thanks for asking. :)

Fonts list:

11.09.2006  12:12 PM           352,736 CALIBRI.TTF

11.09.2006  12:12 PM           351,544 CALIBRIB.TTF

11.09.2006  12:12 PM           362,524 CALIBRII.TTF

11.09.2006  12:12 PM           367,620 CALIBRIZ.TTF

I tried the "kafan mini-browser". Fonts are rendered correctly in the primary interface there, but not in the developer tab.

The only thing I can think right know is for you to install these fonts --> https://www.mediafire.com/file/s5pho1827w1ey8h/calibri_w7.zip/file

They are the Calibri fonts of my Windows 7 installation. I compared them to the ones you have and the sizes differ (the Win7 ones are bigger than the ones you show). Try them to see if anything changes.

Replaced the fonts, but no luck.

I did some digging. While the font family when running 11.0.2251.0 is "Calibri", it changes to "宋体" when running "13.0.2310.0". In the case of the former, I guess the text is rendered correctly, as the default font used by it is subsituted by "Calibri" in "FontLink\SystemLink", while the latter has no corresponding subistution value in the registry.

MSGOTHIC.TTC,MS UI Gothic

gulim.ttc,gulim

SimSun.TTC,SimSun

mingliu.ttc,PMingLiU

Any idea about which values can be used to substitute "宋体" in the registry? I am guessing that might solve the issue.

Regards,

mgpai

The value "宋体" you say I got it before. Test this font to see if it changes something --> https://www.mediafire.com/file/4aqksrm525jhsnj/SegoeUIEmoji_fakeSimSun.ttf/file

This will replace the "SimSun" fonts on your system so be sure to backup them before installing this.

Sorry for the all the testing.

In 360ChromePortable_13.0.2170_rebuild_1_ungoogled.zip.

When you click on refresh on a tab it reloads a previous tab that was closed and not the current tab. I hit F5 for the workaround.

It automatically saves the password for discord? I have ask me to save passwords checked, so I can remove that. "settings\personal data\Passwords and Forms".

After 360ChromePortable_13.0.2170_rebuild_1_ungoogled.zip. crashes, when it prompts you to reload tabs, it displays an empty tab.

360ChromePortable_13.0.2206_rebuild_9_ungoogled.zip

The font is not clear at all compared to the above version.

OK, I've switched off the automatic DST adjustment, and set my timezone to Paris (...)
Everything looks fine and, as expected, 360Chrome is now showing the correct timestamp for history entries.
I'll let you know if it gets rid of the 'incorrect today' issue too, it's OK at the moment!

Hi Dave :) ! 20 days have passed since and we're less than a week away from the time clocks will have to be set one hour back (in your case, from BST to GMT), am I to infer that lack of further communication on this means that the "incorrect-today" issue on your 360EEv13.5 copy has no longer manifested itself? ... Considering you were skeptical about that :dubbio:,,,

Cheers :)

Sorry yes!
I monitored it for quite a while, intending to report back, but never got around to actually doing it!
Yes, against all my expectations, the 'incorrect today' issue seems to be fixed.
Quite why a one-hour discrepancy in the time that the browser thinks it is should cause that is still a bit of a mystery to me, but it obviously was the cause!
I'll probably just set the time back an hour manually on the morning of the 30th, by changing the timezone back to London, and carry on doing that manual adjustment in the future when the clocks change.
:yes:

Is it possible, for example, to insert a Rule in the polyfills.js, which describes the "Oswald" font in font-family to "Arial"?
If possible, other fonts.

I have already tested addons such as "Change WebPage Fonts", but they don't work as desired.

Have you by chance tried DC Browser?

Shockingly, it still works quite well when others fail. Too bad it can't be updated any furthers.

I have not tried the DC Browser, but I have managed to resolve this issue by upgrading to 360Chrome version 13.5.

if you can post a link for the DC Browser I will take a look.

Kafan Mini-Browser

Another Chinese Chromium-based browser that seems to be pretty much like a standard Chromium build.

Official Page --> https://browser.kfsafe.cn/

Forum --> https://bbs.kafan.cn/forum-298-1.html

Screenshot of the browser:

Modified Version download link:

v1 --> (Updated 17/10/21)

Version: 1.0.0.121 --> (Updated 17/10/21)

Version: 1.0.0.127 --> (Added 02/02/22)

Based on Chromium: 87.0.4280.66

Folder --> https://www.mediafire.com/folder/ytdozcs6wco9x/Mini_Browser_Modified_Version

Observations:

- On startup the browser will connect to the website of the search provider selected as default because of the search bar provided on the new tab.

- Browser crashing when inserting a USB drive? --> Disable the "Enable new USB backend" flag in "chrome://flags/" (Thanks to @realisty).

- Only natively compatible with XP-32bits. It can be used on XP-64bits thanks to @Matias Groen (see XP x64 folder).

- Very heavy for old computers.

- Doesn't have NPAPI support.

DC Browser

A Chinese Chromium-based browser. The only version compatible with XP is v4 (Chromium 75).

Official page --> http://dcbrowser.cqttech.com/home

Modified Version download link:

v4 --> (Updated 11/11/21)

Version: 4.0.7.22
Based on Chromium: 75.0.3770.100

Folder --> https://www.mediafire.com/folder/gc3rbagwt99pr/DC_Browser_Modified_Version

Observations:

- On startup the browser will connect to the website of the search provider selected as default. Similar to Mini-Browser.

- All default extensions were removed (the PDF Feature and Screen Capture will not work). You can get them out of the browser's interface through the settings.

- Doesn't have NPAPI support.

- Has DRM support (Win7+) --> https://bitmovin.com/demos/drm

Original download link (you need to install to get the browser files, fortunately you can set the location of the installation):

General Section Information --> https://www.mediafire.com/file/2jvdjs9igpow4ra/General_Section.pdf/file

Patcher to retrieve the translation function for all browsers modified --> https://www.mediafire.com/file/4ma2f6n9vs0soh4/trans_patch.7z/file

Usage:

- Inside the "trans_patch.7z" there is a "trans_patch" folder. Extract it.

- Copy and paste the folder in the same place the browser executable file is.

- After that, enter the folder and execute "trans-patch.bat".

- A command-line interface will show up. Depending on the browser you are trying to apply the patches a small question will be promted on CMD. If everything goes correctly the program will show you at the end "Press any key to continue". Press any key, open the browser and check if the translation function was restored.

After all that you can delete the "trans_patch" folder.

It should work without errors. If anything else happens tell me.

Thanks to all the following for the information I could gather for the modification of these browsers:

@Windows 2000, @VistaLover, @Sampei.Nihira@win32@DragonSC7601@redapple0204@blackwingcat, @404notfound@Cixert@thebuildone@ArcticFoxie@Dixel, The Russian Repackers, @dmiranda@we3fan@athlonxpuser and @Greyfox77

I really hope this can help someone.

If you want to donate it will be truly appreciated --> https://paypal.me/HummingOwl

Cheers.

Hi @verta ... here it is on the first page by this developer Humming Owl.

Please let us know how it works for you. Mini Browser also could work, but not for me; unfortunately.

Good luck :)
