360 Extreme Explorer Modified Version

Recommended Posts

Your numbers do match @IXOYE's XP SP2 numbers with @Humming Owl posting slightly higher results.

Your results show my 13 rebuild 4 to not only post the HIGHEST number for v13 but also the LOWEST number for v13.

I don't really like tests with results all over the place (wide variance) like that.

I prefer tests where the results are like what you scored for my 12 rebuild 5  --  one low "outlier" (18067) [outliers get tossed in many forms of statistical analysis], the other three all within 63 points of each other.

63 points when the average is 18,509  --  that's an "accuracy" of 0.35%

My 13 rebuild 4 did the same thing  --  one high "outlier", the other three all within 178 points of the 17,566 average, an accuracy of 1.01%

Not sure why Humming Owl's versions have such a wide variance and much more "all over the place".

I find your http://antutu.com/html5/ test results a little hard to believe.

Possible, but still hard to believe.

Can you run the test three times in each browser and see if you just had a "bad run" the first time you ran it?

The test was performed several times on a real PC, p4. 3Mhz,2Go, no GPU,x86 xp2 and not on a Vmware computer, and without any doubt 360chrome 12 .1592 is superior to 12.1247...:P

same thing with https://www.wirple.com/bmark/

Humming Owl 12.1592 test1=133 test2=138

ArcticFoxie 12.1247 test1=98 test2=100

Humming Owl 13.2250 test1=98 test2=114

ArcticFoxie 13.2206 test1=84 test2=86

What do you mean when you say "no GPU" ?

ps - it's not a "competition", it's just that I specifically test all of my builds across several benchmarks and mine win here, on this hardware, I won't lose any sleep over it not winning on "everybody's" hardware

my only way to test XP x86 SP2 is via VirtualBox and it's a NIGHTMARE to get it to connect online.

I have an old Compaq Presario SR1520NX lying around gathering dust.

Sempron 3100+ @ 1.8 GHz, 2 GB @ 400 MHz PC3200 SDRAM.

I'll install XP x86 SP2 on it one of these weekends for future testing purposes.

Might be a few weekends though, in the middle of a DIY bathroom remodel.

All interior walls being replaced, new bath/shower/toilet/vanity, pocket door for bathroom to have a second door accessible from back yard.

Sweet!  :cheerleader:

I am a big fan of "benchmark" scores.  I do think that some of them can be misleading, but at the same time they are a great way to compare browser performance (especially on the same machine, not necessarily between two different machines).

I say "misleading" because I often compare Chrome-based to Mozilla-based and Chrome-based ALWAYS wins!

BUT when a Chrome-based scores 40,000 and a Mozilla-based scores literally HALF at 20,000 you would think you would NOTICE such a difference when "browsing" the internet - BUT YOU DON'T!

I also cite my own v11 compared to my own v12.

v12 scores higher in "benchmarks" but I really like v11 because after a reboot the GUI loads in under THREE seconds compared to it taking SIX seconds for v12 (and v13, NM, Basilisk, Mypal! [4.0s to 6.5s for all of these])  :realmad:

But despite v12 scoring "higher", real-world page-load times show v11 to load pages faster.

@ArcticFoxie, if you would like, in your special machine, old dusty Compaq Presario, to migrate to some extremely easily downloadable Windows, would you like to test (or rediscover) Windows XP, 95 ... ? Click here these links:

Reinstalling XP x86 SP2 without nLite'ing it first (a must but I can delay that portion for now).

I know how to nLiite SP3 and "tweak the crap out of it" but maybe I need to start all over again with x86 SP2.

For example, I don't even install the DNS Client in SP3, among countless other removals - but now I cannot rule any of those tweaks/removals out as to why I cannot get 360Chrome to even CONNECT in XP x86 SP2 (GreenBrowser and Mypal connect just fine).

Not really sure if this little "venture" is even worth it, to be honest, but it's not like the old Compaq Presario was doing anything anyway.

Ok, no clue what is going on

Installed XP x86 SP2 direct from CD and without any nLite customizations and I cannot get 360Chrome to connect  :}

GreenBrowser and Mypal both connect without me needing to do anything special  --  what am I missing in order to get 360Chrome to get past "Establishing secure connection..." in the status bar ???

@ArcticFoxie

In my Add/Remove Programs list, I have too:

Microsoft.NET 1.1, Hotfix KB886903, 2.0 with two Security Updates, Sonic Encoders, ... , Windows Installer 3.1, W. IE 8, and W.XP software updates (av. KB932823-v3)...

- also look at IE8 settings...
