Actually, why do people need extra extensions for their search engines? Isn't the Opensearch standard a good solution? That way, you can even add current search engines to the old Netscape browser of 2008. Startpage and Duckduckgo support it, Mojeek too and many more sites. To look for an Opensearch plugin, have a look at the search bar (at the upper right corner of the old Firefox compatible browsers). The second-to-last item is "Add", if there is an Opensearch plugin available. That works in Pale Moon too. But! For some sites, you have to check for the Opensearch plugin at their home page. For some sites, you have to do a search and check for the plugin afterwards. Opensearch is a perfect solution on Firefox-compatible browsers...in fact, @RainyShadow kindly reintroduced me to the Mycroft Project, which I had used long ago and forgotten all about. It's a great alternative to downloading search plugins from the Pale Moon or Basilisk websites--in fact, I'm currently using the "!Google" (Google NCR) engine from the Mycroft website, their #1 offering out of the top 100. You figure you have been supporting MCP by using one of roytam1’s builds for XP? That’s rather ironic, because MCP clearly thinks otherwise. The only reason FF45 was selected was that it did not require SSE2. I think a majority of us have processors that support SSE2, and if you are able to use FF52, then that includes you. A similar patched version of FF52 has been requested more than once, and would be a fine idea - but there might not be any upstream to pave the way.
