Basically: this is me, my system is heavily crippled for the sake of (so called) privacy/security. I guess we do what we can so we can still enjoy the experience (as you say ... proportionally) , otherwise, whats the point?

I'm in the middle.:)

plugin that could be set to "Never activate"

So you really believe it could be just turned off via some software switch ? lol

It was available first time, actually, in Pentium 3, but that was pre-9\11 world and this did not fly well and was quickly strike down by EU.

After 9\11 right-wingers rig the world and you all should comply and be obedient slave citizen or nine-eleven will happen again.

1 - I think the thing you're talking about is more closely related to what they call Intel Management Engine Interface (IMEI) and Intel AMT nowadays . And this one works in conjuction with browsers to create your unique fingerprint (Firefox and it's forks , Pale Moon too, of course) . I'm not an expert on Firefox , but with Chrome  you can just open resources.pak and you will see Crypto Token Extension . It can't be just "switched off" by a regular user . No need for further comments.

2 - Nailed it !

Well if "they" are tracking (little old) me (mister blobfish) they must be very very bored lol. Geez Louise ... they would fall asleep if they went through my computer :D

No , they won't fall asleep . Our data costs big bucks . Any real user data . And we pay for their surveillance gear ourselves , everything's included in the final price.

I long time want to ask, will roytam adapt 29 version of PM?
They promise "Google WebComponent" support on they release notes with 29...
Maybe this question was asked before, but i never see it.
So what will be with 29 for XP?

This has been indeed asked multiple times here ;) , the most recent one was just six pages back in this very thread... :P :

My own answer from back in February:

https://msfn.org/board/topic/180462-my-browser-builds-part-2/?do=findComment&comment=1195384

(NB: Not meant to offend anyone ... :P )

TL:DR: appVersion numbers simply don't tell the whole story and people should not just stick to them...
Latest NM 28.10.3a1 has all the code found inside unstable official Pale Moon 29.3.0a1, minus portions of the official code it was decided we shouldn't adopt, plus code we have kept but upstream have gotten rid of...

And since you're anxious about Web Components implementation, upstream haven't made any leaps towards that goal, there's a dedicated issue in their tracker

https://repo.palemoon.org/MoonchildProductions/UXP/issues/1361

coupled with

https://repo.palemoon.org/MoonchildProductions/UXP/issues/1344

where you can monitor their progress (or lack of... ); until recently bounty material, if/when something is added there, be sure it'll find its way into New Moon, too, irrespective of its advertised version number...

Is it clear for you now? ;)

Best wishes!

roytam1, please remove the limitation 4K texture for hardware acceleration. This can return hardware acceleration for Radeon 9500 - X1250 and Intel GMA900 - 3150 graphics cards

https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=637089

this is included for a long time: https://github.com/roytam1/UXP/commit/04671d8d62b1085e8a6e7eaaff4de8efe3ad4ce3

And add opengl32.dll file for SSE2 + ,  that it would be possible to enable software WebGL on computers with a bad video card https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1193695

https://download.qt.io/development_releases/prebuilt/llvmpipe/windows/

(25-Sep-2014) and rename opengl32sw.dll

actually this means reverting https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=958368 , which has some risk since this change is landed for very long time.

That's what I understood from that thread I linked to.

Don't be pedantic.

I don't care. My days here are numbered.

I wish them success with their data after that, haha.

Hm.... Radeon 9550 (DirectX9) video card. Serpent, KM and PM write the following errors

Compositing    Basic
GPU Accelerated Windows    0/1 Basic (OMTC)

(#0) Assert    [D3D9] Failed to create a critical resource (vbo)
(#1) Assert    [D3D9] Could not Initialize the DeviceManagerD3D9
(#2) Error    [D3D9] Failed to init compositor with reason: FEATURE_FAILURE_D3D9_DEVICE_MANAGER

This video card works normally OpenGL compositing in K-meleon (layers.prefer-opengl) and OpenGL compositing in Firefox78 on Linux. Why might this and other D3D9 video cards not be initialized?

don't know, but your card/driver failed when calling CreateVertexBuffer() here.

Well, I've (really) done it this time ... I hope you guys still love me still??

I decided to install mypal only for testing and used the installer and accidentally ticked default browser and now I can't undo it and I've been trying for hours. His uninstaller doesn't work for me and deleting it completely didn't either, its still my default browser and I can no longer make new moon the default; which mean my links are looking for mypal even if its gone. How can I change it in the OS? No browsers who in the Add or Remove Progrms.

mypal2.jpg

And no matter how many times I click here, it won't make new moon the default.

mypal.jpg

Not that I don't like mypal but now I'm stuck with it and don't know how to remove it. For those using the installer, think before you click "use as default browser"

Any help would be greatly appreciated as I'm clueless.

Thank you in advance :)

Search the registry for any entries relating to the mypal executable (presumably mypal.exe).
Just delete them and it should come good.
Back up the registry first of course, just in case!
That's one of the problems if you can't uninstall properly, the program's registry entries are still there.

Thank you for the fast reply; Dave, I did remove everything related to mypal in the registry and removed all traces of mypal and completely messed up everything actually, now my links open up in IE ... ugh. Still can not make New Moon Default as in picture above.

Again, I appreciate your help/advice and I'll fix this if it kills me - what I get being a "Curious George"

EDIT: I'm gonna try that installer here for it but I've never needed it before. Also, I tried "folder option" -> "file types" and make .url (internet shortcut) open in New Moon and even that won't work.

User Agent Mode - Compatible Firefox. The functional of the buttons will come back.

Install another browser.Download mypal 29.2.0 Create a new folder and name MyPal Cool, or as you use. Then start the MyPal installer. Select Portable installation,

56bc502e44ecf186.png

then select Browse and find the location of the formed filter. Click in Install. This is an extracting browser to a new folder. Run mypal.exe. Set Compatibility with Firefox. MyPal Portable has her own AppData and Local Appdata folder. Also in the folder you will create a profile after the first setting. This is important because you will be logged in to a pendrive. Good mypal can be moved from a pendrive to a computer with Windows 7 and even Windows 10 will be good in conformity mode.

From this broken mypal, keep the most important passwords, bookmarks and copies of extensions. Then you can uninstall quite. Portable will behave.

Next time you want to uninstall software give a try to IOBitUnistaller Portable:

https://portableapps.com/apps/utilities/iobit_uninstaller_portable

which also allows you to clean the registry.
Obviously, before cleaning the registry, check what the software will delete.

Gosh, this is strange ... I did run that mypal MyPal installer, and once finished, I was able to uninstall it without problem; but, I had to manually clean the registry again - not a trace of mypal anymore. Cleaned my system with Wise cleaner and ccleaner and reset IE, and look at this shortcut with the racoon logo???

I'm not saying the browser isn't good, but dang, I didn't think I was getting married to it and can no longer make New Moon default as hard as I try. Anyway, I'm cool and gonna get outside today as its about 77 degrees and I badly need some sun.

Thanks everyone and hopefully I'll straighten this out later or tomorrow.
