Jaguarek62
Greetings, I like the behavior of windows 8.0. Windows 8.0 automatically pins every single new application into metro interface. Is there a way to make 8.1 to do the same thing? Thanks
AeroSeeker
Like, automatically pin in the All Programs folder or in Start screen main? EDIT: Found this: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows8_1-performance/how-do-i-automatically-pin-an-application/4f2cff6d-7fc4-4448-99e3-5143c61a4fe0 "Microsoft actually blogged about this in the "Engineering Windows 7" blog. There's also no way to programmatically self-pin your own icon to the Taskbar in Windows 7 or higher. According to the blog, it was in direct response to programs that "spammed" the quick launch toolbar, and to prevent such behavior by programs going forward. I can't speculate to why 8.0 didn't enforce this, but 8.1 returns to the Windows 7 method of "no auto-pin". So I can't revert it to 8.0 behavior?

Maybe with another program I don't know about. Classic Shell MAY have an option for this, but I can't check right now since I'm not at my desktop at the moment.
