The MSFN café - A Penny for Your Thoughts

To tell you the truth, people should just ask their doctor for a blood test to see if you are Vit D deficient. Be careful, this is fat soluble and can be toxic and build in your body. Might be better to supplement with Vit C and Vit B Complex as your body will pee out what you don't need. Also I hear turmeric is promising (I take all 3 now) and as you can see, I'm "normal"

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7385774/

But, again, you need to know your levels, very easy to get :)

PS: Sometimes with online IQ tests I do very well; other times not. I don't know, depends on how well I slept the night before. Oh ... if you get Sun (Natural Vit D) you will also have healthy melatonin levels which will improve your sleep quality.

I'm not a doctor I just play one on television.

Vitamin A

What if Vitamin A could stop 70% of severe cases of Covid?: https://joannenova.com.au/2021/12/what-if-vitamin-a-could-stop-70-of-severe-case-of-covid/

Hmmm ... I should start changing my diet. Eating crap isn't good. I don't eat fast food anymore but today's prepared food is still junk. This year I intend to pay attention to what I put into my body and try to get these nutrients naturally. ;)

Here are some very good food choices. I know its not easy and people don't have the money to eat healthy everywhere and sometimes we can only take what is available. I struggle to get by, I admit that, but, need to do what we can to improve our health and immune system.

Thank you for the nudge

Edit:

Here are 2 other good articles.

https://ods.od.nih.gov/factsheets/VitaminA-HealthProfessional/

https://www.mountsinai.org/health-library/supplement/vitamin-a-retinol

Again, please be careful with those fat soluble vitamins. They build up in the body and my interact with other medications one might be taking. This doesn't usually happen when we can get our nutrients from food sources.

**quick vent**

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Genetically_modified_organism

Genetically modified organism (Fake Foods)

We can create a carrot to grow like a carrot, look like a carrot, taste like carrot, smell like a carrot ... but it can be fake. Yep, that is right, we are eating fake foods with practically zero nutrients. We wonder why people are sick. We feed animals pump full of steroids to make them grow super fast and huge and kill them quickly and repeat. We eat all the ground beef from multiple cows and think this is Okay?!?

Supplements do have their place and are needed when we can no longer get nutrients; especially in underdeveloped countries or those of us living under the poverty level. Food banks sometimes have expired food and pasta. I've been there, but luckily now, I can eat fairly well on tight budget.

Is this whole world fake? What have we become? It it too late?

I think the world is definitely fake , with a very high level of hypocrisy . As for the food , we still have enough good food in the rural areas of France . It might be a bit more expensive sometimes , but it's worth it . That doesn't mean it will be this way forever. France is overpopulated , so every new wave of "refugees" brings us more trouble. Yet the gov. greets them with the open arms. As for the states , I read most organic food is imported from Europe , such as Belgium , Holland , France , Austria , Germany etc. And it's quite expensive .

@Dixel
Changing countries? I don't think that's viable for me. I'd rather just drop dead if things go too dystopian. Definitely don't wanna live just to survive, though circumstances may lead one to such path.

@D.Draker
BTW, Christmas decorations came a bit late here, so there was that. It's been years since this time of the year felt magical to me, guess I'm too old.

About the world, something caught my attention in the news in recent times. Some people make accusations towards medical students that they're just in for the money and not to help people or something along those lines. So the student that was in front of camera that made that statement was obviously a bit upset about haring such things despite students working hard at it, specifically helping with COVID patients these days.

OK, so I won't deny that they work hard, but really, at the end of the day, who isn't in for the money? All this pretending, sheesh. I wonder what the world would like with significantly less optimism bias.

Here fresh fruits are relatively cheap. For example most expensive apples are around 2 euros at local store. Cheapest ones are under 1 euro, but i like some of bigger and more juicy ones or apple from local farm during summer. Also I can get salmon with 5 euros for kilo when on sales. I really enjoy making food myself from fresh ingredients.

Also during summer I got change to get fresh berries and fish where I live by going to river or to forest. Next summer I will be going deeper into forest to pick up mushrooms and berries with friend. I will get some equipment I may need like PMR phones which are long range handheld radios that atleast in finland wont require licence. Last time I had radio phones was back when was 15. In recent years I got my interest on radio phones and radios overall back because they got lot of potential and they are not depend on carrier to work (if network crashes). As long as got battery or other power source and there is no something jamming it you can get comms. I know how to use amateur radio and plan to get licence for them at some point when got time.

this is one of hardest questions ever in my opinion. There is no simple good answer for it and it depends on circumstances.

It’s a Pandemic of the Vitamin D Deficient: A few dollars of D3 in hospital reduced deaths 60%

Anyone read about some people proposing invermectine for treating the infection and how they were silenced?

Either way, regardless of whether it works for this case, I think generally finding correct information is the art and the regular mortal is quite helpless in the matter. So you're not too smart yourself and supposedly educated people have biases as well, so what will you do?

I tend to think the truth often hides somewhere in-between.

5 euros ?!?!?!? Cool , but could be lower, if the russians didn't steal from you .

Nowhere near such prices here , even on sale ! And it's mostly Norwegian . Though salmon is different . Which salmon are we talking about exactly ? I hope it's not too dry ?

Here we have lots of cheap (but good) bread and cookies which I hate and don't eat at all ! Thanks out climate , fruits are good and cheap.

I am talking from natural fillet (filee) of it. Also it local one and fresh so it costs bit more in my area. I am talking from fresh rainbow trout (kirjolohi) fillet sold in vacuum bags. I eat with chili, tomato and spinach topping I do myself. It is not dry and is tasty food. For single person that price is not too high from fresh fish.

I mostly like to eat rye bread (ruisleipä) which is popular here. Something I noticed when was visiting europe long ago that in other countries rye bread is too sweet. Tastes like someone slapped 20kg sugar to it.

This is my favorite rye bread https://www.k-ruoka.fi/kauppa/tuote/oululainen-jalkiuunipala-8kpl-480g-6411402106407

it is bit harder than cheaper bread and it tastes more like rye.

I think that the truth is one, so it is enough not to read or listen to the official media, which are only the tools of totalitarian propaganda.

I do take this suppliment, but, again, better if you can it from food(s). Water soluble .. drink water and you'll rid yourself of what you don't need. Very imprtant, actually for your eyes and brain.
