mjdbb1
Just a shot in the dark to see if anyone has managed to run Win7 on a Dell XPS 8930. It's got a Coffee Lake processor and a Z370 board, and I was able to get USB drivers, which is typically the hardest part. But I am missing a bunch of other ones (sound, ethernet, and a bunch of system devices/chipset). I've been all over the place looking, and tried Driver Identifier, but it really wasn't helpful. Anybody manage to get this working?
Ximonite
I don't own a Dell XPS 8930, but these drivers should work. mjdbb1
Wow, thanks for all that work! Most of those links were ones that I didn't come across (especially the first one about the chipset). I'm going to give them a try and will be back with what I find out. Thanks again!
mjdbb1
Well, thanks again, that got me most of the way. I'm still left with a couple of devices I can't find any compatible drivers for: - Video controller (this is the integrated Intel one...I doubt I'm going to find something for this) - ACPI Wake Alarm - Intel Management Engine - AMD Root Hub (xHCI) - Intel USB 3.0 Root Hub

mjdbb1
I tried again on a clean install...it seems to make a difference the order in which I install them. Now I got everything except the video controller. The hardware ID is PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_3E98&SUBSYS_08591028&REV_02 Any ideas on that one?

mjdbb1
Finally got it! Thank you, jaclaz. I went down a little bit of a rabbit hole on some of your links, and I can't figure out exactly how I got to it...but in case anyone else ever comes looking, the drivers I finally got to work are here: https://www.biostar.com.tw/app/en/event/H310_windowstool/ The drivers are "win7_8th_i3_i5_Driver_2.0.rar". Thanks again for the help!
