Looks like that WU hack is repeatedly giving you a few old updates, such as KB3060716 from 2015 (for both Vista and Server), also 4014793 (Vista) and 4036162 (Server) from 2017!?

Yea, it is :D, not a big issue though.

how did you get msrt v5.93 to install?

Since a few months msrt would just install without errors through WU. I too found it odd and don't believe it actually installs but i may be wrong or maybe WU has some exception now. Eitherway i'm sure we all can agree that MSRT is useless.

v5.95 has been already uploaded to MUC; please download the standalone x64 file,

https://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com/Search.aspx?q=KB890830

(WS2008 compatible variant:)
https://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com/ScopedViewInline.aspx?updateid=ba94649b-e7e7-46ec-8369-9f97804c6dab
http://download.windowsupdate.com/d/msdownload/update/software/uprl/2021/11/windows-kb890830-x64-v5.95_6ea7900c5dc32947ae0f05ffa0b168912fe42627.exe

and attempt to run it locally; while I can understand that MU is detecting and downloading that update successfully (since the MU "hack" spoofs Vista as WS2008), if you're able to successfully launch/run the local file, I suspect latest Extended Kernel files/settings play a role in that (e.g. because of spoofing the OS as Win7 :dubbio:).

It shows the unsupported OS error like expected, even spoofing it doesn't seem to work so it probably hard checks for the version.

Thanks for testing :thumbup ; to conclude, WU claims a successful installation "status" for MSRT, but this doesn't infer successful running of the "installed" file (i.e. actual scan of the system for Malicious Software :( ) ... If only we could figure out how the "hard" OS-version-check is implemented... :dubbio:

ok i decided to disable debug mode on Windows Server 2008. and now im back to having the bsod issue i encountered on a uefi capable laptop. all the bsod displays is a stop error code. well imma type it exactly as it is on my screen rn. yes that is literally how it displays. anyone know how to fix it. im kinda tired of using the temporary fix of using the debug mode boot option...

***Stop: 0x0000001E (0xffffffffC0000005,0xFFFFF80000C545AA,0x0000000000000000,0xFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF)

Interestingly enough, I started getting this exact error after installing Windows 11. Debug mode works but what's causing Vista to crash outside debug mode?

In terms of what's been discussed here I'm a little unclear about what's causing the problems. Is it Windows defender or a rogue update for server 2008?

What does debugging mode do anyway? I don't really see anything in Microsoft's online documentation about it.

I used an iso with the 2017 updates slipstreamed and it was working fine before I upgraded my windows 10 installation (big mistake!) to 11... Reinstalling vista didn't change anything unfortunately.

Should this be on a new topic?

I experienced this too after trying to multi-boot Vista, 7, and 11 on my Dell Latitude E6530. Glad I'm not the only one. At first, I just chalked it up due to the hardware being unsupported and possibly the fact that Windows 11's UEFI may mess up Vista's UEFI I should note booting into Windows 7 worked just fine!

Is this a kindergarten now?

I dunno , ask your friends who upvote your OT posts  just for saying something against me , like this one . This topic became all about WU,  net 4.6.2 and other updates , but no one seems to care . I write ON-topic discoveries , like the KB I mentioned earlier , which allows to install the EX-kernel without the terabytes of additional garbage , and  you said I write OT posts. Are you OK ?!

About "friends" , I think we all should be friends here , at least friends of Vista.

Yes , he was the one who said "fake news" , since there's no proof about hasswell , so let this term belong to the OP Dixel , make something up yourself and don't forget to oppose me with yet another OT to get more upvotes.

In the meantime , I want to ask @win32 , are there any plans to add support for chrome extensions  , thanks ! Because if no , I'll just join the 360 team.

Here is the aspect for my Firefox 93.0

If you like, you should only install the Addin FirefoxColor from the Addons site and configure it like the images indicate.

https://addons.mozilla.org/es/firefox/addon/firefox-color/?utm_source=addons.mozilla.org&utm_medium=referral

To finish, create in your Firefox profile folder the Chrome subfolder and paste the userchrome.css file there.

(The UserChrome.css file returns the classic appearance of the tabs)
(You can find out where the profile is, entering about:support)

Hello guys!!

There's a way to get Intel Dual Band AC3165 Wirelless Card and USB 3.0 from Intel in Windows vista extended??

My laptop is a lenovo ideapad (intel core 8 th gen)

It may be possible with osver.ini, but I think more functions would be needed. If, somehow, it installs with osver.ini, it would be broken. Using that, DriverBooster updated my Intel HD 4000 graphics driver to the Windows 7 one (from 2016 and contains the blue and white Intel control panel used in 7 and later as opposed to blue and black used in Vista and XP), but it was broken so I had to roll it back.
