Bâshrat the Sneaky
My UXPCD is getting very close to the finishing touch... The only problem that's left is that at T-12 (when svcpack.inf runs) I'm getting this very, VERY annoying screen, that asks the following:Are you sure you want to proceed installation of WMP9, while system restore is turned off? When system restore is turned off, you won't be able to un-install it.I'm installing it like this: "WMP9.exe /Q:A /R:N" and system restore is turned off when cmdlines.txt ran.How can I prevent WMP9 setup from doing this?(not by turnning sr on again, and off at first logon or anything alike plz..)thx in advance
killerbee
hi,this is an old one - just execute wmp9-installer BEFORE u turn off system restore.hope this helpscyaKiller Beeok, saw it too late that u wanted without SR

XtremeMaC
easiest way is to modify sr.inf put this in there[Version]Signature="$Windows NT$"LayoutFile=layout.inf[DefaultInstall]
DarkBringer
Maybe easier?WINNT.SIF :[Components] SystemRestore=off
[BM]Crusher
I use the WINNT.SIF [Components] SystemRestore=off (if this actually works)I install the Media Player 9 and Movie Maker 2 file via svcpack.infIt works perfectly...
XtremeMaC
using SystemRestore=offjust makes the system restore off which means, the hdd space reserved is set to 0. by removing the inf entries it doesn't even get installed, u don't see the system restore tab...I dunno i like it this way... Bâshrat the Sneaky
OK, the deployment pack turned out to be anything but usefull... What can you do with it?1) WMP = set standard , Y/N2) Settings included in mpsetup.msi , Y/N ==> if N, go to 3) ==> if Y, settings from this PC or a target one (copy from target pc to correct folder) ==> if Y, edit Group Policies , Y/N3) The new mpsetup will be created. No (extra) options for unattended install... It doesn't work here... :s (Which is the reason I've searched and found WMP deployment pack
