Vista SP1 Drivers ok for Server 2008?

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

I have laying around an "el cheapo" PC (bought from a supermarket) which walmartone I plan on repurposing as an asset server for all my photography assets and textures etc.

The problem is that the motherboard is based on a low end consumer chipset (Nvidia MCP73), and I can only seem to find chipset/LAN/graphics drivers for Vista or Vista SP1.

As they are based on the same kernel, will Vista SP1 drivers work with Server 2008?

Thanks,

I don't see any reason why they shouldn't work.

I've never used that particular hardware before but, software wise they should work. Considering they are based off the same kernel; I've tested Vista drivers on Server 2008 and for myself it worked flawlessly. (Good luck I hope it works for you as well).
