i430VX
Have you tried any other driver versions? Programs like SDI (http://sdi-tool.org) may offer many different version to try, otherwise try dell's website or searching the web for the hardware IDs... LoneCrusader
I faced a similar odd issue with my XP x64 Media/"HTPC." You have to manually choose which output is used for sound, whether over HDMI or output to the Audio jacks. If you're using HDMI output, then the jacks do not produce output. It's been a while since I had the issue so I can't be more specific. Examine all of the settings for your Sound and Video hardware in the Control Panel, etc.
RainyShadow
HDMI uses a different sound card - the one you have listed as "Intel Display Audio" in device manager. You need to fix the IDT sound card - it may be wrong driver, or a hardware problem (i had replaced a few defective audio chips at work in the past...) Also, try installing the chipset drivers - you seem to be missing few. [edit] Ooops, didn't notice this was old... sorry Edited September 3, 2020 by RainyShadow
