Notice: due to faulty Samsung PM981 SSD, my system config are lost and I have to rebuild whole developing environment and next builds may not be able to arrive on time.

just got a quotation from Ontrack for recovery, which may cost me HKD 3000 to 6800. Of course it is a large amount of money and I'm think considering to go for it or not.

@ArcticFoxie

If you have the Classic Add-ons Archive, just open this page  and click on the install button - caa:addon/redirector/versions?page=1#version-2.9.3

[edit]

just found the YouTube Anywhere Player addon, and it's working pretty well for links to YT videos :)

caa:addon/youtube-anywhere-player/versions?page=1#version-2.9.4

Make sure to enable HTTPS in the addon options!

Is there any benefit you found using mpc-hc 1.6.9 over the latest 1.7.13

Yes there is benefit because version of MPC-HC (1.6.9.7503) is the very last MPC-HC that use native filters that have DXVA1 HW AVC decoding capability (MPC video decoder). As far as i understand Lav filters use DXVA2 and can't HW accelerate in XP. Same with MPC-BE - 1.4.6\1.4.7 use more advanced MPC Video Decoder and HW accelerate AVC in XP.

not possible, because ffmpeg 3.4 knows only software decoding.

So i was thinking - can this MPC Video Decoder from MPC-BE be used in New Moon?

Could you tell where to get BE 1.4.7 please? As there is only 1.4.6 jumping to 1.5.0 on the sourceforge page

I find it here:

Here is direct link:  https://yadi.sk/d/Dp0nionU3NcVdN

And here is MPC-HC (1.6.9.7503): http://www.mediafire.com/?xfgh33iws56bh

hard to tell. the changes between 20181222-ba81aaf07-xpmod and 20181229-83cd9661c-xpmod are minor: https://github.com/MoonchildProductions/UXP/compare/ba81aaf07...83cd9661c

unless it is AV1 content (which is unlikely since AV1 decoding is super-heavy) since there was an update between these builds.

Did this mean that FFmpeg version was changed to more new, between 20181222-ba81aaf07-xpmod and 20181229-83cd9661c-xpmod? That can be answer why 28.3.0a1 (2018-12-21) is last version that are not have choppy video playback. Maybe it some code regression in newer version of FFmpeg? Or priority of video playback is lowered in newer FFmpeg? Because sometimes it look like 28.3.0a1 (2018-12-21) have higher priority to video-playback, - even if it still load page it not have choppy video playback. And with any newer version of NewMoon video-playback lagging like crazy if page still loading during video-playback.

Can you investigate it please? Like maybe create one modern NewMoon version with FFmpeg from (2018-12-21) or look what with priorities there? Because i still use 28.3.0a1 (2018-12-21) and any newer version that i try have same disappointing peculiarity - choppy video playback. I suspect other users here did not notice that cause they use NewMoon27, or started from later versions, or use multi-core\Hyper-Threading CPU, or just not watch that much video like i am.

I assume this amount is for them to actively recover the data for you, not just for some recovery software? Is the price contingent upon them successfully recovering everything?

Of course it also depends on just how "irreplaceable" the data is; or how hard it would be to "recreate" the lost items... If you have PayPal, some of us might be able to contribute a few dollars toward helping you...
(for reference, if the conversion I'm getting is right this amounts to approximately $400 to $900 USD; seems a very wide price margin!)

yes it is whole recovery service, including portable harddisk for returning data. whole processes in reply email is here:

Quote

1. Please review and approve your service agreement here: http://ww3.krollontrack.com/d/Contract?Id=[retracted]
2. You are welcome to take your drive to our drop off location below or we can arrange courier to pick up your media.
148 Electric Road, 12/F Unit 1203A, North Point Hong Kong
3. Once the job is booked in, we will send you an email which will link you to a portal to monitor the progress of the job and also view the reports when it’s ready.
4. There will be no evaluation fees for standard service. Upon completion of the job, we will provide you with a report indicating what are the data that we manage to recover for you along with a quotation for the data recovery services.
5. If you are fine with report, you will need to endorse on the quotation and we will proceed with the final stage of recovery. The data will be stored in a new external 1TB hard drive which is included.
6. The recovery fees is in the range HKD 3,000 – 6,800 for standard service. The turn time is between 5-7 days. If it’s mechanical failure and need customised parts, the turn time may be longer as it is subjective to parts availability.
7. There will be no recovery fees if the media is unrecoverable.
8. Data Recovery will be performed in a Class 100 cleanroom environment.
9. In the event if the hard drive is recoverable and you do not proceed with the data recovery, there will be an admin fee of HKD 1,000.
10. In the event if the media is not collected within 1 month after the job is completed, it will be degaussed and donated.
11. Ontrack will not honor any data lost of the back-up hard disk issued after 30 days from the date we returned the device to you.

and I asked what's the difference of "recoverable" between my understanding and their understanding. hope I can get the answer in next working day.

Feodor2 also has some problems.
MyPal build 28.13.0 has these restrictions:

PAY Attention original palemoon developers declared that we abuse their sites they even tried block them from mypal but failed, and it will be likely an excuse when they begin abuse us. So no excuse ещ to me i removed all links to their sites from mypal, the addons page synch and other stuff regarding palemoon will not work, do not complain and create issue about this. You can open their sites manually but i do not suggest who knows what they invent next time. If you really want to open their site use another browser. Anyway i can build new versions while they stay opensource and eventually we set up our own alternative sites.
