Hi, in last Pale Moon (palemoon-28.9.0a1.win32-git-20200307-13122a94e-uxp-88da01c29-xpmod.7z) pl.xpi localization from JustOff stoped working. general.useragent.locale automatically changing from pl-PL to en-US every time I restart browser.

I've tried releases 28.8.0_RC1, 28.8.0_RC2, 29.0.0_RC2 none worked.

Release 28.8.0_RC2 worked with previous Pale Moon (palemoon-28.9.0a1.win32-git-20200229-384ae7977-uxp-ae8eb4d4c-xpmod.7z)

Hi,

FYI, last version 2020-03-07 of palemoon27 is phoning home to 104.22.13.159, palemoon.org

Ouch!  I'm glad you caught that, I'm not sure if I would have noticed.

Please keep us posted if you see this in the next version as I've been "trying" to revert to NM27 as my "default-for-all".

I added external viewers using extension "Open With" by Geoff Lankow, which can be found in JustOff's extensions archive "CAA". This basic function should really be part of the base package, like external editors in graphics programs. Viewing video in the browser is an awful experience, as is digging through about:config.

Another problem I encountered is a global ban (!) on Cloud Flare (many sites) based on the browser's "signature" and a failed "integrity check". I've customized it a bit for a few days, but have done nothing that would incur a ban. Anybody else getting this problem? I was getting this problem before adding any extensions, and noticed it again because the add-ons were hosted on CF. My IP is not  banned, only the signature of New Moon.

https://i.imgur.com/b53Ai0U.png

Another question: Can the extended validation field in the URL bar be diasabled to extend the available space and avoid the text jumping when edited? I've succeeded removing the padlock symbol.

I use Geoff Lankow's "Open With" extension all the time but that's a clever idea to add media players — I wouldn't have thought of that myself!

I am now trying to access https://myaccount.google.com/ and I'm just getting redirected to  https://myaccount.google.com/not-supported.

I have tried various user agent strings but can't get access in either New Moon nor Serpent.

Please let me know if you have any ideas!

Edit:

So I go back to the https://myaccount.google.com/ tab and it's actually loaded with the latest fully-featured version of the page?!

I then tried reloading the page with my usual New Moon string, and it also gave me an actual page; namely https://myaccount.google.com/general-light !

I thought it was pretty awful to completely deny us service, so apparently Google must have read my post here on MSFN and implemented a classic version for us immediately after reading my post — gotta love that concern for users!  🙃

Edit 2:

So it appears that the light/classic version doesn't actually work completely, so I am using the following string to get the full version which isn't as nice looking but works quite fine!
"Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 5.1; rv:69) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/69"

Personally, I prefer to open youtube or other videos with the help of a plug in that opens MPV outside to new moon and basilisk, the quality under Windows XP is much better.
For those who care...
Add-ons to new moon...  "open with 6.8.6" to work new moon and basilisk, seamonkey.
Does not work on iceape
https://web.archive.org/web/20191029181104/https://legacycollector.org/firefox-addons/11097/index.html
downloaded the latest version of MPV.exe for windows 7 , 8, 10
https://mpv.io/installation
WARNING: last functional version under xp
 xp 32:  http://mpv.srsfckn.biz/mpv-i686-20150923.7z
 xp 64: http://mpv.srsfckn.biz/mpv-x86_64-20150923.7z
then download youtube-dl.exe
https://github.com/rg3/youtube-dl/releases
or here
https://www.videohelp.com/software/youtube-dl
put youtube-dl.exe and mpv.exe in the same folder and put it wherever you want on your hard drive.
Then go to the "open with 6.8.6" option. and add the path to mpv.exe to the list.
creates a txt file named "mpv.conf".  in the same folder as mpv and dl-youtube
added if you want youtube argument lines of the type
--ytdl-format=720p/best
@--ytdl-raw-options=format="bestvideo[height<=?1080]+bestaudio/best"
@ disables the argument line
the argument is used to set the maximum quality of the video, to prevent it from opening a youtube resolution video by default.
indicate in the choices on the right "display as a sub-menu".
in the context menu (right mouse button) you will have "open with mpv". by clicking on any youtube or other video link.
The quality is much better.
You can add VLC a "open with 6.8.6" but it'll only open youtube videos, because it's not attached to "dl-youtube.exe". unlike MPV which will open video links on many websites.

something else I also use "dark bakground and light text" version 0.6.8 for basilisk 52.Does not work on new moon

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/dark-background-light-text/versions/

And to translate texts into different languages, I use "Qtranslate" which uses all the deepl, google bing, baidu yandex... translation engines.
it's much more practical than a browser plug-in

https://quest-app.appspot.com/

Thanks to Roytam1 for his good work
