If that doesn't violate your laws and maybe you get into trouble.

yeah I do need surgical mask (requiring "EN14683 Type IIR" / "ASTM Level 3" for best protection, or "EN14683 Type IR" / "ASTM Level 2" for basic protection) indeed. I'm very pleased if you can donate surgical mask to me (and my family). You can PM me for the shipping address.

and you may need to fill something other than "surgical mask" or "Personal Protective Equipment" for customs clearance (i.e. don't fill aforementioned words), for example, fill "cloth" or "printed materials" instead. So parcel(s) won't be trapped by Hong Kong customs.

any mask that is EN14683 compliant will work. I had a quick look on the items (I don't read Italian and I didn't use any translator yet) and it seems that this mentions EN14683 and having slightly better price/performance ratio.

I saw that if I place my order it will now arrive by February 14th.
But now I'm not at home, I'm out of town on business, I would place the order on Monday 10 February during the day.

Then after the product has arrived we agree privately for the shipment to Hong Kong.

Read this, I don't know if there will be problems:

https://www.dhl.it/exp-it/express/assistenza_doganale/documentazione_doganale/regolamentazione_doganale_cina.html

Translate

In some cases the Chinese customs reserve the right to carry out additional checks on the goods, to assess the non-commercial nature of the shipment (otherwise it is sent back to the sender)

- goods sent to individuals as a gift: copy of the recipient's ID card; detailed goods list and pro forma invoice.

p.s. And then there is also a pro forma invoice, I don't think I can declare false (i.e. cloths).

In your country there are too restrictive rules

to be clear, People Republic of China (PRC) customs is irrelevant to Hong Kong's customs and their rules/regulations are not applicable to Hong Kong customs.

and I asked my friend for advises, he told me that it is better to use fedex and fill correct type (i.e. "mask" here) and amount.

Unfortunately I ran into a problem. I know someone who works in a pharmacy, and I contacted them about ordering some of these masks. Apparently they're on backorder all over the United States, citing a "global shortage," and none of the medical supply companies they use are accepting orders for them or even providing an expected date when they will be resupplied. So at this point, unless one can find them online (and provided these online sellers still have adequate supplies themselves and don't put you on "backorder" as well) it looks like it's going to be hard to lay hands on them. :(

yeah I'd just seen a news report about that. Korea even can't manufacture masks because China stopped providing the filter layer.

Roy as soon as my wife returns home we place the order.
Which should arrive at my house from 12 to 15 February.
Then we agree on the shipment.
But my daughter and wife ask me to tell you that we will send you not 50 masks but 47 because 3 we will keep them for any of our needs.
My daughter is always on the go.
I am sure you will understand.

Order executed:

LEGACY uB0 (currently at version 1.16.4.16, to be found in its own repo now)

This had all happened automagically so I hadn't even noticed, but I just checked about:addons and sure enough, uBO Updater is up to version 1.6.9 (presumably to handle the new repo) and uBO itself is up to 1.16.4.16 on my browser!

I was noticing the referenced WaPo article worked fine on my system, but hadn't a clue why. (Not that I was wont to complain!) But anytime I install a new browser, whether FF, Chrome, or Edge, the first thing I do nowadays is install uBO on it, so this would explain it. (Internet advertising is so out of control nowadays that you just can't go without something to tame the chaos!)

In the off-chance someone is using the WebExtension flavour of uB0 on FxESR52 or St52 (probably 1.17.4)/St55 (1.18.x?), then, again, native filters inside uBlock filters allow for the nag-free browsing of the WP site; but there's a catch: for some reason I'm not familiar with, uB0-WE demands that service workers are enabled in the browser (they are OFF by default, at least in UXP); so, in order for the "Private Mode" sidebar nag to disappear, you have to set

dom.serviceWorkers.enabled;true

in about:config....

I've run into a couple of sites that require (or at least work better with) service workers, so I too have them enabled in about:config, even though the legacy uBO I use doesn't need them. But I restrict service workers to the sites that do need them with a line in My Filters in the uBO dashboard:

*$csp=worker-src 'none',domain=~mediafire.com|~html5test.com

There are probably a few other sites I should add to that line (mega.nz perhaps?) but I haven't gotten around to it yet.

FWIW, that WP site is a privacy nightmare, a veritable menace :realmad:

Ironic to say the least, given the article's content: "Don't use Kaspersky AV because the Russians will violate your privacy; let the WaPo do it instead!" I guess Jeff Bezos doesn't think he's rich enough yet; after all, he only has his own space program....

(FWIW, Elon Musk's space program is better though :P )

I have recently downloaded the latest version from github but I don't know why it gets automatically upgraded to 1.17.4 version

The current legacy version is newer, but it's numbered 1.16.4.16, so AMO thinks 1.17.4 is newer and "updates" it accordingly. Perhaps now that it's separate, JustOff should consider bumping the version number to avoid this issue. Meanwhile, you can turn off automatic updates for uBO, or you can install the "uBlock Origin Updater" add-on, which will force the browser to update uBO from the legacy repo instead.

Yes, the "Classic" YouTube UI is less CPU and memory intensive, but Google is going to stop supporting the "Classic" UI.

The new UI is horrible. Thankfully uBlock makes it easy to remove the never ending sticky objects they love to put all over the site. The old UI was bad enough but the new one is even worse and more difficult to read.

because of anti mask law, amazon don't ship surgical mask to here.

Shame for amazon if that's the case. But I heard that anti-mask law has been declared illegal by Hong Kong court. Not to say in this epidemic.
