I checked the GitHub page.  Where are you seeing this?

Oops! Wrong link added :blushing: ; sorry about that... :(

Remove Pale Moon from the Unified XUL Platform repository

=> https://github.com/MoonchildProductions/Pale-Moon

(this probably means additional hurdles for Roytam1, as he'd have to also fork that new repo and make new arrangements for producing his UXP-based browser forks... :( )

You are kindly asked to check the validity of what you post :angry: ; the OP asked for a "theme" for his Serpent 52.9.0 copy and what you've linked to is a (lightweight) theme (previously known as persona) packaged in a Web Extension format, targeting at minimum Firefox 53.0; that WE persona won't even install in Serpent 55.0.0, because both UXP and Moebius do not support WE lightweight themes...

Most unfortunately, there's currently a very limited choice for Personas compatible with Serpent 52.9.0:

https://addons.basilisk-browser.org/personas/

:)

I may just keep palemoon in my tree instead. for weekly builds against modified upstream, I'll just clone their tree and build on top.

as a result, the palemoon builds will have different archive filename naming to something boc-alike.

Yes thank you for opening my eyes more, but do you know that my Sepent / Basilsk 52.9.0 and Serpent 55 / Moebius they have this persona lightweight theme, that I had done the download a few years ago - surely legacy signed version. I've user set string (says version "0") in about:config: "lightweightThemes.usedThemes" item. So I hadn't paid attention to this link to Mozila, which presents "web extension" versions - a low blow from Mozilla.....so thanks for your correction and link to some Basilisk personas, VistaLover!

For now, I've not downloaded this add-on/extension Lightweight Themes Manager 0.2.1-signed.1-let-fixed.1-signed: https://addons.thunderbird.net/en-us/firefox/addon/lwthemes/: https://addons.thunderbird.net/en-us/firefox/addon/lwthemes/

Features: Backup/restore all themes to/from a JSON file. Save individual theme to a JSON file. Install individual theme from a JSON file. Personas Plus integration.

Vikmin, if you like FTDeepDark v14.3 ...

- In "about:config" search "browser.display.background_color" - now you have the value: #FFFFFF

set the value to #202020 or #303030 or more if you wish - and you have the dark background to your dark wishes....

I've set to #303030 in Dark Background and Light Text v 0.5.13 extension options... very pleasant.

Change the background color of the new tab

In userContent.css put

@-moz-document url("about:blank"),url("about:newtab") {
body, #newtab-margin-top, #newtab-horizontal-margin, #newtab-margin-bottom {-moz-appearance: none !important;
background: #303030 !important;}
}

@vikmin, I think to be not so sure to find and perform operations in userContent.css - thank you!

Some problems I've since a long time ago:

I (rarely) have the slider that starts scrolling at high speed down the page, and stops at the bottom. If I try to go up, it comes back down at full speed. On Serpent 55, and maybe on other browsers too......
I do restart the session, and everything is fine...

On xiph.org, on video frame have: "Video format or MIME type is not supported." : https://xiph.org/video/vid1.shtml

This video is on WebM, in about:config all four WebM statuses are on default. This problem I see on Serpent 55, New Moon, ...

Another problem (Serpent 55, New Moon, ...): "Video unavaillable" announcement after click on it - the video subframe disappears....I can only right click/ Copy video URL, then paste on another tab, and play on youtube. I have some examples of this video behavior, ex: on stellasplace1.com: https://stellasplace1.com/2019/11/22/president-trump-calls-into-fox-friends-this-morning-amid-impeachment-probe-upcoming-fisa-report/

And another problem: After some time, my DeepL translator stops functionning: https://www.deepl.com/en/translator

- and I see red banner at the top: "There seems to be a problem with the internet connection. The functionality of DeepL Translator may be limited. (err429)" , and frame on the right starts flashing continuously. But my internet connection is good...Have this on Serpent 55, and other browsers too I think...but I use mostly Serpent 55.

And Serpent 55: No pictures on Forbes website. On New Moon no problem, I've pictures on Forbes ...

Try using the UOC Patch, it might improve scrolling on your browser, but you must use Serpent 52/New Moon 28, Firefox 45 ESR SSE, K-Meleon Goanna or New Moon 27, as I don't support codebases newer than 52 ESR.

@VistaLover , @Mathwiz , and RT <-- Thanks for HELP offered here.
https://msfn.org/board/topic/178259-instagram-videos-not-working-in-firefox-52-esr/?do=findComment&comment=1172626
Fairly recently, 'Mathwiz' helped me get (MP4) INSTAGRAM Video working with (BK)ST-55 Browser under WinXP.
I am using the ADOBE PRIMETIME Plugin solution install manner, which 'VistaLover' did pioneer that.
So, 'Mathwiz' did post a resulting SUMMARY message entry at URL above, and I draw worthy attention to that. :)

Hi again :) ; how am I to know that, since you never told us about this fact? :P

(snipped)
So I hadn't paid attention to this link to Mozila, which presents "web extension" versions - a low blow from Mozilla

... You are correct; before Firefox Quantum (v57.0+) was finalised and made it to the release branch, a non-Quantum user could install lightweight themes (previously known as personas) directly from AMO; they were at the time simply renamed to just "Themes" by Mozilla, while Complete Themes (the ones previously called "Themes") where demoted and made much more difficult to discover in AMO; that is because they were slated for slaughter :realmad: , as not being compatible with Quantum...

Shortly after Quantum was released, AMO withdrew all "legacy" extensions, together with all Complete Themes ! :angry: To add fuel to the fire, they did also remove most "legacy" lightweight themes, while those they kept underwent the Web Extension treatment, to render them compatible with Quantum (similar things happened to language packs and search-engine plugins :angry: ).

There's a relevant and quite interesting thread in the official Pale Moon Forums that discusses the old vs the new (WE) format of Firefox personas:

https://forum.palemoon.org/viewtopic.php?p=177818#p177818

Some "legacy" personas are still recoverable via the Web Archive; the one you already have and suggest to others has, luckily, only one working web capture and can be installed in either FxESR52/Serpent52/Serpent55 through that page:

This is also available via CAA (caa:addon/lwthemes) and is indeed useful to save to disk (and then be able to re-apply :yes: ) an already installed persona, no more to be found on AMO... :no:
