DirtDevil Posted April 16, 2004 Posted April 16, 2004 Just wanted to say that installing McAffe VirusScan on Windows 2003 is possible... for some people didn't recognized it.McAfee VirusScan can be installed in Windows 2003 compatibility mode.Right click the setup.exe -> properties -> compatibility -> set to Windows XP.
Panagioths Posted June 11, 2004 Posted June 11, 2004 This is correct, but then I have probleb updating McAfee...
Worren Posted June 16, 2004 Posted June 16, 2004 A completely no hassle anti virus solution is AVG. Either the free edition or the pro version goes right in and works the first time. No problem updating. The pro version even runs silent background scans.
Joe User 99 Posted June 16, 2004 Posted June 16, 2004 I am running McAfee VirusScan Enterprise 7.1 on all my 2003 servers (about 80 or so), and no problems installing or updating. Must be retail home user version that requires compatabilty mode.
MadGutts Posted June 17, 2004 Posted June 17, 2004 I too run Virus scan Enterprise 7.1, with the McAfee Autoupdate Architect. It works fine, i have the main AD server running the master repository, and then a backup on the exchange server....Its pretty cool software !
