Problem Visual Studio 2010 Express Windows 2000 with KernelEx

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone!

in this topic: https://msfn.org/board/topic/178700-visual-studio-2010-on-windows-2000-kernelex/

I talked about my problem with installing visual studio 2010 express on windows 2000.

The only problem now is that I can't open it... :(

In fact when I open it says: "Invalid License data. Reinstall is Required."

So anyone knows why this happen?

I also tried from those sites:

So, I tried to modify the registry as the seventh link says but it didn't work....

I tried also to install subinacl and modify registry keys

Other links says about *.sln files... But I opened only the executable file...

So... Anyone knows why and how to resolve this?

Thanks :)

Is there any reason you want VS2010 on 2000? VS2008 works and can compile for NT3.51-2000. (Use with legacyextender for NT3.51-95-98-NT4)

VS 2019 can compile for XP.

If you do get VS2010 working on Windows 2000 there is no guarantee the compiled executable will work since VS2010 does not support 2000. (Obviously using the Blackwingcat Kernel works around this).

For my projects where I use VS I use VS2008 for NT3.51-2000 and VS2019 for XP but I use my host Windows 10 for compiling.

Ok, yes there is a reason for using vs 2010...

yes I have BlackWingCat's KernelEx, if you want all specs here there are:

Pentium 4 | 2.80 GHz

Windows 2000 with SP4 and BlackWingCat's KernelEx 2.8b and I managed to install .net framework 2.0 SP2 and .net 3.5 (with IE6 if it helps)

In this previous topic: https://msfn.org/board/topic/178700-visual-studio-2010-on-windows-2000-kernelex/

I managed to Install .net framework 4.0 (in 5 hours!)

Now it vs2010 is installed properly... The only problem is that it gives me an error when I open.

So I think that it can compile properly if I have KernelEx installed correctly :)

I think I didn't explain properly ...
I have  Installed Visual Studio 2010 but I cannot Run it ...
I believe that someone has misunderstood me and believe that now my visual basic works .... but it is not ..
