jaclaz
Fun nonetheless for those remembering the install procedure from no less than 23-26 floppy disks[1]: https://hackaday.com/2019/03/09/speedrunning-windows-95/ jaclaz [1] for the OEM version

Jody Thornton
Well @jaclaz, the best puns should incorporate a "facepalm" moment. So I'll happily take terrible.
Tripredacus
I have done it once. It was either Windows 95 OSR2 or Windows 98. The disks were from Gateway and I am thinking there were either 33 of them or that the 33rd disk was bad. It was a failure of an install, as one of the disks was unreadable, and this after installing for about an hour and a half.
win32
After installing Windows 98, take the time to do a full install of Office 97 Professional: 46 additional floppy disks! I still have about 25 3.5" floppy disks, about 5 of which are unreadable. Then there was the one where the shutter was a little loose and got stuck in my Presario...

I thought that was the point! It takes work to not only install the software, but to copy it all to the floppies. Not everyone has "Access" to that many disks anymore*, let alone the drives they go in. Oh, and here's another: it's not a pun per se, but kind of illogical. When MS designed the Windows 95 UI, why did they think it made sense to put the "Shut Down..." command in the "Start" menu? It just seems like an oxymoron to say "click the start button to shut down the computer". c
