Shouldn't I not be able to access any sites if that were the case? It's probably just suggesting you check the clock as troubleshooting. Really, if the system clock (and date!) is right... you'll need to use a different browser because Chrome depends on XP crypto functions which are very lacking these days Might I recommend either Basilisk (Firefox-like) or New Moon (Pale Moon variant) from this thread: Alternatively you can PM @heinoganda for his ProxHTTPSProxy binaries Edited December 31, 2018 by i430VX
Windows 2000
The thing is, those sites that don't work on Chrome, don't work on any other browser. Even the site for downloading New Moon shows that error: Edited December 31, 2018 by Windows 2000 Added photo.
i430VX
well the reason you cant download new moon is because of bad https support remove the s from https on that download link and try again also... i don't know if you're aware but you're trying to download an old version of new moon http://o.rths.cf/palemoon/palemoon-28.3.0a1.win64-git-20181229-83cd9661c-xpmod.7z above is a link to the latest version (as of 31-12-18) of new moon, tested working from chrome Also: can you please give more examples of non-working sites? siria
Great, love it that roytam's server is available on both protocols, http AND https! :-) That said, even on https the encryption is really tame, even my very old main browser which has max TLS1.0 has zero probs there. Your "old browser" must support some compatible TLS1.0 cipher while chrome does not
Windows 2000
Well, pirate bay doesn’t seem to work, many random sites around google don’t seem to work and I think that Earth, Paladin’s downloader and World Of Warcraft’s downloader not working has something to do with the certificates. They refuse to connect to their server.
i430VX
You've not explicitly said it to this point: Have you tried New Moon yet?

Windows 2000
Well... It seems that New Moon actually does the job and loads all sites and is now set as my default web browser. But why doesn't Earth or in fact most downloaders (or apps that should connect to a server) still not work? EDIT: Okay, Google Earth fixed itself after reinstall.. Things seem to be getting a lot better since I set the default browser to be New Moon. EDIT 2: Some downloaders still don't seem to work. Have recently learned that those come with their own module for handling TLS-certificate-stuff (and updated by roytam1 in his builds). While most other browsers and apps use the (outdated) systems module for it, and that system stuff seems extremely complicated to update, if possible at all. TrevMUN
Just a heads up for the future, @Windows 2000. Earlier last year FFXIV suddenly dropped TLS 1.1/1.2 support, and that kept me from actually connecting to FFXIV's servers. However, ProxHTTPSProxy allowed me to continue playing the game as normal (for now at least). I've run into a few cases where a site won't load on Chrome or Advanced Chrome unless I have that running. Firefox hasn't had this problem. Still, I'd recommend pinging @heinoganda for ProxHTTPSProxy in case you come across problems like this again.
Destro
Just wanted to say I just installed Xp64bit on one of my computers and I am not experiencing and SSL errors or any errors. Like in this thread. So its not a problem with XP64bit. BTW I use latest 64bit builds of newmoon and basalisk. I have no clue how to reproduce the problems in this thread.
