Yandex.Disk on XP x64! (And Win2K)

Recommended Posts

Well, using FCWin2k its possible to use Yandex.Disk on XP x64!

The "Classic" Version is supposed to work on XP x64, but doesn't. Simply download the classic (new has missing kernel functions) and open it up in fcwin2k.

Then Set OS Ver to Windows XP SP3, and click runcompat.

Presto!

Using this method will allow it to work on windows 2000 (with extended kernel) as well, however you must run fcwin2k on yandexdisk.exe in the program folder once it has been installed, as well as the installer when you first install it.

I highly recommend changing the setting to use the classic menu, click the gear, then settings, then advanced.

New menu causes severe system instability on Win2000 it seems

Aside from that, it works, however it does seem to crash occasionally, at the most random of times.

Your activation? like windows activation?
if so, i have no idea how that could possibly happen from this.

Was the message something like "Windows Product Activation can't check the activation status of winlogon.exe" after attempting to logon?

I've gotten that after messing around with the OS identifier of NT 5.2 x86 VLK (Server to Professional). Perhaps applying fcwin2k to winlogon.exe would have caused this. I don't think Yandex could affect WPA in any way.

if so, you can still access Windows in safe mode, where you can delete all the associations made by fcwin2k. If not, a backup of the registry that dates back to before using fcwin2k should fix it.

P.S. this method should also work on Windows Server 2003 (x86 and x64). This program must be one of many that block NT 5.2 (or Server 2003 specifically).
