however you will need a legacy version. Not sure where to find that now that Mozilla disappeared all legacy FF add-ons.

It can be retrieved by installing the Classic Add-ons Archive XUL extension (mentioned previously in this thread, as I recall ;)):

https://github.com/JustOff/ca-archive/#compatibility-and-installation

After successful installation, open "caa:addon/empty-cache-button/versions" in a tab; you would need latest "Version 2.7.1-signed.1-signed"; download the .xpi file to disk (storage of the file kindly provided by the Waterfox project) and manually install to New Moon 28 / Serpent 52.9.0 (both on the UXP platform) by dragging the file onto "about:addons"; you will be asked to restart browser to complete the installation; just a usage tip: be sure to close the caa:addon/* tab prior to restarting, else it would take quite a lot of time for the browser to reload post restart... ;)

The linked version may work with Basilisk 55, which AIUI was forked from a pre-release version of FF 53; I haven't tried that though.

Yes, Version 3.4 (WE format) does install and function correctly in latest Serpent 55.0.0/moebius, but does not install/work in Serpent 52.9.0/UXP, because it requires WebExtension APIs not present in[/backported to] the UXP platform... <_<

PS: if you like the "metro" style of the icons used in this WE version 3.4 of "empty-cache-button" (which, as said, can't be installed in either NM/Bk52), I have taken the liberty of "patching" the XUL version 2.7 (linked-to above, GLGPLv3 lic ) so as to include the "metro" icons (instead of the default "3D" ones); ergo empty_cache_button-2.8-pm27-28.xpi

Not a fan of Metro myself, but the OP may be! Thanks!

Edit: BTW, I usually use Basilisk 52 but if I'd bothered to check my Basilisk 55 installation, :blushing: I would've seen that it had already updated its Empty Cache Button add-on to version 3.4. I thought its icon looked a little different ;)

Important note about the latest Basilisk release (both "official", released today, and @roytam1's released last weekend): https://forum.palemoon.org/viewtopic.php?f=61&t=21091

TL;DR: The PM team is anticipating that Mozilla will soon shut down Basilisk's access to the Firefox "Sync" service, so the new builds preemptively remove support for Firefox Sync and replace it with PaleMoon's Sync.

What this means is, if you use Sync you'll need to sign up again on PaleMoon's server; but more importantly, you'll need to upgrade browsers on all your platforms at the same time. Otherwise some of your browsers will be syncing to Mozilla's servers, while others will be syncing to PaleMoon's servers, which of course means they won't stay in sync with each other!

Edit: BTW, it also occurs to me that if you have Basilisk 55, your version isn't being upgraded to the new Sync server, so the concern which prompted this change in the first place applies to you: Mozilla could "cut off" your access to Sync from Basilisk 55 at any time.

Also, one of the things you can "sync" between browsers is your add-ons; but Basilisk and PM differ significantly in the add-ons they support; therefore, if you already use Sync with PM/NM, you may want to set up a different Sync account for the Basilisk browsers on your PCs so changes to PM/NM don't mess up your Basilisk browser add-ons. Of course that means that passwords won't sync between browser families, so you may want to consider an alternate solution (such as Abine's Blur add-on) to keep your passwords in sync.

New version of Basilisk running excellent. As always, thank you @roytam1. Testing on Windows XP SP3(4) (AHCI) installed to the SSD of machine #2 in my signature.

what sites do you test Basilisk in, in order to determine it's running excellent ?

everytime anyone says this I go on facebook site and start scrolling down all over my ''timeline'' and I can tell you I think otherwise.

Not Facebook. I'm glad I've never had to touch that, even if only with a 10 ft. pole. :puke:
Of course, many others here will disagree.

Confirming that, and inability to copy image location, or rightclick-viewimage.

Now that there's a new official Basilisk release (2018.12.18), I can confirm that right-click menu options "copy image location" and "view image" do work. So hopefully there's a fix for the bugs in last week's XP version that will make it into the next XP version.

''The problem is that reCaptcha started using javascript functions not available on older browsers, they should send different scripts depending on browsers version but they are lazy and decided to stop supporting older browsers.

There is not much we can do, your only choice is to use a newer browser but that will need a newer OS.

Micro$oft is going to start forcing windows 7 users to upgrade to windows 10, they actually pay money to game developers to create games only compatible with windows 10, thats the way it works.

Sooner or later we all get wasted.''

I run NM 27 and basilisk 55 on multiple machines.

But I tweak the preferences and addons on a single machine, and then copy the profiles over to the other machines.

I'm thinking about using the built-in password manager: Remember Passwords / Auto Fill In / Master Password

I'm wondering if that will play nice and copy to the other machines, or if I'm going to run into problems.

Any thoughts ?
