My build of New Moon (temp. name) a.k.a. Pale Moon for XP

And isn't it funny that Moonchild forgives Matt Tobin his outright disgusting behaviour, yet he bans me and I think three others from the forum for much less than that.  Unbelievable.  He even defends Matt for his statements.

The other thing is, they never really answer why they cannot support Vista.  See, with XP I have no problem with jettisoning the OS from support (sorry, I'm also not try to start something - I just want to be transparent), but Vista and Windows 7 are such close cousins.  And just by seeing that functionality restored by Roytam1 shows that the Moon-Matt team are creating artificial blocks on UXP towards Vista and XP.

even other users spotted that.

and even MC had something to say to MT.

I notice that Matt Tobin was really kind towards your posting your theme on the Pale Moon Forum.  You just can't please some people.

https://forum.palemoon.org/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=2484&start=380

I hope Matt notices that I "respectfully" called him "Matt" or "Matt Tobin" which I know he really likes - not something an "enept moron" would call themselves like - oh I dunno, say "New Tobin Paradigm" or just "Tobin.  Only dummies would call themselves that.  Check out his spelling of "inept".

:)

Correct.

Oh hey guys, I see you are picking apart at PaleMoon devs. While you're at it, I will add a few things.
During the v25-26 days of Palemoon, I would sometimes talk in their IRC channel about talk about things not exactly to their approval(modding Atom build to include dev tools and possibility of doing this as addon), so I was a bit of a bother.

Eventually, came the time when they added a registry check to downright prevent browser from running on PCs with POSReady2009 or XPs with POSR2009 update hack, their reasoning being that they wouldn't support that POSR2009/XP update hack(calling it FrankenXP) because of differences from standard XP.
The reg check was committed to their GIT with a very inconspicuous name, something similar to "updated error messages", if I remember correctly.

I promptly and very tongue-in-cheek posted the attached screenshot on their IRC channel, of course getting me banned, after they came back online.
Remember my ButtMoon pun earlier in this thread? :P

In the meanwhile, some of the people on their forums begged them for removal of that check. They eventually obliged, but said they will remove XP support altogether if they get bug reports from POSReady/hack users claiming to be regular XP users.

Eventually, XP support was removed anyway, with the advent of the v27 codebase, based on newer FF.

Well the fact that the official build of Basilisk works just fine in Windows Vista (with the exception of system codecs) by simply changing the internal version number of the application from 6.1 to 6.0 using Blackwingcat's PEMAKER, doesn't help their case:

It has profile folder in your %appdata% in other name. For portable use, use portable-loader.

OK ... I fooled around for a several hours and created my own Frankenstein monster browser. It's the same way I made New Moon work with a profile folder from last year... taking the last working Pale Moon portable for WinXP and replacing everything from the NM Bin folder.

For Basilisk I took my NM browser ... the latest saved yesterday after the new updates . I replaced everything in the NM Bin folder with everything from the Basilisk folder and to my surprise it all worked like a charm ... changed the NM desktop icon to the Basilisk serpent icon and all is well. My New Moon settings carried over ... the Bookmarks in Basilisk are now gone and I have the Favorites folder instead ... which is how I have New Moon set up, from a Firefox addon or fix.

I've been using the Basilisk browser for some time now and all seems to be working ... I have one or two more things to check or try out but I have my main working clean Basilisk browser saved on a flash drive to put on my other two computers.

Looks like I can 'like' this browser once again.

... thanks taos for your help and roytam1 ... I may just stick with my 'monster' browser for awhile and see how everything goes.
