Latest PM28 and Basilisk builds are crashing on startup on XP x86 due to XUL.dll

Patching the dll with XomPie makes the browsers work fine.

It must be a dependency problem, please investigate.

Has any had any success with installing language packs in NM28? I've tried it but all I'm getting is an error that says they're not compatible with NM 28.1.0a1, even though it says on PM's that they're compatible with PM28, so I thought they'd be compatible with NM28 too...

you may need to edit 28.0 language pack's maxVersion to 28.1.0a1 in order to install.

hmm. I don't know why.

I tried again. I cannot explain it. both of them (wih unpatched xul dll) started without issues.

I haven't even restarted the computer

then you may need to check if you have faulty memory module(s) or faulty drivers.

Could be just a temporary system glitch. Note values of memory and other resources (e.g. handles) next time if something similar happens again. Closing (crashing) leaking programs helps a lot when such glitches occur.

the Basilisk is always pushing the CPU too hard 30%-50% (lot of noise) while the Firefox is complete smooth on the same websites.

Facebook needs a powerful browser but Basilisk is complete crap and slow compared to Firefox, Maxthon, Chrome or Vivaldi. (all them unsupported and old versions of course)

the only real advantage to me is that it plays website streaming videos, twitter vines... that Firefox no longer supports.

not sure why the Basilisk 55 has not been update over the past month but it appears to be slighty faster, although I'm unable to iinstall a single addon not even the UBLOCK to kill all stupid adds.

just my opinion sorry for the rant

@roytam1 I just tried the new release and am surprised to see that the old default theme is back. Perhaps because of my request?

Thanks anyway! Well, the light blue one could co-exist for people to choose if they want it,.

What I really most want is the option to be able to launch the browser from clicking e-mail links and such in portable mode as

MyPal does. Hopefully you will add this feature one day soon.

Thanks.
