greenhillmaniac Posted January 7, 2018 Share Posted January 7, 2018 Updated the repository with 3 months of updates, including: All of the updates mentioned by @Ruan for November 2017, December 2017 and January 2018; Updated Extras folder with a better description of each update on a readme.txt file, a new timezone update and a dedicated folder for the .NET Framework 4.6.1 installer; Updated the readme.txt file at the root of the repository with updated info; Removed every superseeded update in the repository (from each month... I need to transfer a lot of data off my system first, and make a system image , before I'm going to attempt anything. Steve Gibson has just released a handy little tool, InSpectre (portable), you might find interesting. MSFN's server(s) crashed really badly just over a week ago (June 1), so bad that the site went down for 5 days. Unfortunately, the only backup that xper had of the site was from February, so all data from sometime in February to June 1 was lost and could not be recovered. I do find the following updates however, KB4099640 (Security Update for .NET Framework ... on Windows Server 2008 R2) and KB4099636 (Security and Quality Rollup for .NET ...), which to judge from the numbers is a later update. Holding off installing things seems to have been a wise idea. Otherwise, we seem to have found the same things, and I haven't actually installed them yet either! Not that it's much good for Vista users these days or folks actually running Server 2008 SP2, but I do have Win 7 and Win 10 setups to maintain. Anyhow, Woody points regularly to Martin Brinkman's ghack.net for descriptions of updates and what they do, f'rinstace (https://www.ghacks.net/2018/06/12/microsoft-windows-security-updates-june-2018-release-overview/) Brinkman covers quite a bit of ground; security updates are just part of it. More focused update attention comes from Dustin Childs at the Zero Day Initiative site (https://www.zerodayinitiative.com/blog/2018/6/12/the-june-2018-security-update-review).
