The fastest windows 10 on earth

LinusTechTips is just a bunch of clickbait videos with technology as their main theme. Most of the videos they make have no substance. One good thing this video prooved however, is how competitive Windows 7 still is, compared to Windows 10, in some of the benchmarks.

Also, that Windows with no telemetry and magical good performance he mentions already exists. It's called Windows 8.1 :D

not if its abandoned by developer
AFAIK XP was ditched in 2014 (WEPoS doesn't count, as they release it under diff name and "SKU"/licence)

Abadonware is determined by copyright, not active development. This is why MS software never ends up in the category of free distribution, no matter how old it is. Of course, they themselves can decide to release something if they want. Most often they do not, even for old software, which is disappointing.

Doesn't Windows 8.1 have the telemetry as well?  I thought it was the same boat as Windows 7, no?

Like Windows 7, you can hide all telemetry updates, as long as you have a list (like I do for 8.1). DiagTrack doesn't even show it's ugly face when I'm updating 8.1 systems.

It's not an herculean task to stay private on 7/8.1, compared to 10, so my point still stands.

No that's cool.  I thought you were trying to say that 8.1 had a leg up over 7, that was all :)

Thanks. Wondering if you're still keeping this up to date?

For the most part, these telemetry updates have all been included in the newest Monthly Rollup, so if you want to avoid it you should use @abbodi1406's script hosted on Askwoody: https://www.askwoody.com/forums/topic/2000012-neutralize-telemetry-sustain-win-7-8-1-monthly-rollup-model/

Do the mods still think redistributing Windows without a crack is "piracy"?

Just wondering because I made a copy of Vista updated to EOL, and I'm wanting to post it.

Also, there's a custom copy of Windows called Windows 9. It's basically a highly modded, updated, and slimmed down 8.1 Embedded Industry Pro copy, which I'm 100% certain that Microsoft knows about, because of all the coverage it got by Reddit and LTT. Also, the creator states "This image is provided with no license key, therefore it is not an illegal source of windows. Users must provide their own license key for activation." I agree with that statement, and it appears to have worked for all the years Windows 9 has existed, because it's still a thing, and still hosted.

Its not their decision, MS just don´t allow it! - That is the reason, why tools like NTLite, Dism++, wimtweak,... still exist. - The other thing is, you can not be sure, that a 3d party modificated iso, doesn´t get backdoors.

MS allowed some people, the distribution by permission, but only of untouched iso´s.

- If you got a "perfect" iso - you can only write scripts, post your preset, etc, that other people can reproduce it! (This is the legal way!)

For me, a combination of changing registry package permissions, wimtweak scripts, sysprep and vm export worked the best -> removing as much as possible, without destroying Windows Update, Store, Firewall...
