It turned out that there is a special version for XP and Vista, build 5.64.7577.

Yes, the main download page should now serve it to you (unless you are spoofing a newer OS). Working on Vista, but I prefer much older versions.

Out uBlockO legacy v1.16.4.19.

Mine has updated automatically, which I was impressed with, as I wasn't at all sure whether it would or not as it didn't come from the usual Mozilla add-on store!

Unless there is a ccleaner portable version, I won't use it or recommend the installer version. It is nagware, at least. I will stick with the current functionality in 5.63.7540, and keep updating the software included for cleaning using ccenhancer at https://singularlabs.com/software/ccenhancer/

Well then I got tricked by outdated documentation :/ sorry.

I just tested BleachBit-3.2.0 portable.

It starts fine, but after a sew seconds prints an error about being unable to check for updates - same on the older version i often use.

It successfully cleaned my Silverlight cache (files) and WinRAR history (registry entries). Didn't check anything else.

I'm beginning to see your point. No wonder I used the same old version for 3 years, but I'd rather not send everyone to FileHippo. How to disable system tray notifications?

No idea really. I haven't seen a nag or annoying add for years, neither on my XP desktop, beyond the occasional testing in a VM, not everywhere else, including my android. Call me lucky if you want. :buehehe:

Download the last portable (5.5?) version, that is all there is to it.

Last time I got nailed was the "all your bases are belong to us" thinghie, because of my unwise use of a proxy app that doesn't exist anymore.  This was back in the early dubya years. Awful thing to see Saddam Hussein laughing at you telling you "all your bases are belong to us", lemme tell you.

I use the portable version CCleaner 5.61.7392.
5.64.7577 has the same problems as the previous versions.
Persistent bar CCleaner icon, non-erasable registry key, pop-up.

If any MSFN user finds the remedies for this I would be happy to use it:yes:

Edit

Done.
Just act a little in the setting.

I also inserted my old winapp2.ini file for cleaning Interlink Mail New, New Moon 28 which is recognized as Firefox, Potplayer and MBAE.

I insert some pictures.

Start:

New Moon28 which is recognized as Firefox with my custom cleaning rules:

Does that mean you know how to disable system tray notifications for 5.64.7577? If so, could you please explain how?

It is better if I insert pictures of all the changes made.

My settings were mostly the same. When you see the "Health Check" system tray notification, I suggest that you click "No, thanks" and perhaps it will never pop up again.
