Unable to get Win 10 entitlement on Dell PCs COA sticker "Win 7 Pro OA India"

I used an answer XML that didnt work too well and had to remove a few fields from it as WSIM would not validate those fields.

Now this is the F up..  Not a single of my Genuine Dell machines has gotten activated. Used this method with fresh Win 10 1511 on an SSD..

Well, here's a tip. Stop doing it that way. Do it my way. I've upgraded 250 PCs in less than 2 months part-time.

1. Get an SSD.
2. Get a Win10 ISO.
3. Open PC. Connect SSD.
4. Do a full install of Win 10 to the SSD. Get your entitlement.
5. Reconnect original HD.
6. Repeat with next PC and Goto 3.

[Edited to clarify that I re-use the SSD for each subsequent PC.

Also, FYI, that you must do an install of W10, either in-place or clean, to get the entitlement. Simply booting to an existing install of W10 will not do it.

This is the comprehensive thread where I tested every combination of upgrade/restore:

And this one shed some more light on this:

Why is it not working?

Their has COA sticker Win 7 Pro OA India. Do I need to use a different  .ISO for this?
I used the EN-US as most of my machines come from US, but this org I'm helping has these. .

Is there a quick shortcut fix?

Which "flavor" MSDN ISOs do I need to download?

Did you consider calling MS Tech Support? I be that one's a matter they sure know how to fix...

Well, not really.

As a matter of fact you can be pretty sure on average that they have NO IDEA of what the problem is, they won't actually be able to understand the problem, they will put you through any number of unrelated and pointless troubleshooting steps that will lead you to nowhere.

Only when (and if) you will manage to escalate not one, but rather two levels, you may be able to communicate with a competent technician that will instantly understand the issue and very likely will be able to either explain the reason for the issue and/or solve it.

You may want to appreciate how the situation is nicely symmetrical, as the user will normally provide invalid data, like the links that crashburn4u posted, which are broken and are actually:

https://community.spiceworks.com/topic/1479736-defer-windows-10-upgrade-via-downgrade-after-key-registration

BTW, in the first one a (supposedly) MS representative named Chris cleared[1] the matter.

The user will also say something like "it is not working" without providing any meaningful description of what he/she is doing, what actually happens, etc.

No need to apologize for the broken links :), it was just an example for dencorso.

You should actually apologize for having posted a senseless question :w00t:, if I get this right :dubbio:, you are using a (BTW half-@§§ed or only partially correct) unattended.xml, whilst the OP you cited never talks of any unattended.xml, either "standard" or "modified".

Hasn't the suspect that the variation you introduced in the method might actually be involved?

If you follow someone's advice (or tutorial) you should - at least the first time -  follow it EXACTLY, WITHOUT introducing ANY variation of ANY kind.

And if and when you have an issue, you should DESCRIBE EXACTLY what you did (to the utmost detail, including - as an example in this case - the unattended.xml you used) and also DESCRIBE EXACTLY the error you have, not just a generic "it isn't working", REPORT what happens.

Maybe this way you might get some senceful advice and/or ideas, otherwise you will likely get no assistance of wild guesses by clueless people.

Another suggestion could be, since the information comes from https://community.spiceworks.com/ , to ask there, maybe the OP can provide you some more detailed info on the process.
