CamTron Posted March 14, 2016 Share Posted March 14, 2016 (edited) If you really want to create your own Linux distro, there's Linux From Scratch to help you get started with that. However, I wouldn't recommend doing that unless you have almost professional level Linux experience. If you're new, or even have a moderate knowledge of Linux, LFS isn't worth it. You'll need to be your own package maintainer and system admin, and it will be very hard to find support if you have trouble. What I do recommend for extreme customizability is Arch Linux. With Arch, you install Linux manually from the ground up, and learn a lot in the process. You can install whatever you want and customize everything to your liking. You don't need to build packages from source, unless you use AUR, and that's done automatically done via some scripts. Arch also has a large user base, so you can get help easily.
