Service Pack 2 and 3 for Windows XP (Italian)

Service Pack 1 for Windows XP (Italian)

and I've found again the full XP SP3 ISO for network installations from an old cd that I have burned almost 8 years ago.

Microsoft is really desperate, it's trying to move users from XP to their "free" Windows 10.

Finding the stuff on third party sites that Microsoft deleted isn't hard. I think the OP's point was that Microsoft is deleting downloads from their Download Center!! They seem to have deleted Calculator Plus too. Anything to get people on to modern versions of Windows and force them to use apps. A number of old downloads applicable to older versions of Windows seem to be gone, besides the service packs.

I encourage you all to use and take advantage of the Internet Archive (WayBack Machine) to download Microsoft software.

The IA is a 501©(3) non profit organization in the United States, and has been archiving the web since 1996. It became officially recognized as a library by the State of California in 2007.

This ensures that we are using links that will NOT "mysteriously disappear" in the future. Also, questionable sources could lead to disastrous results.

If you have the original Italian links, you can paste them in the Internet Archive. I have provided English below.

If we can, let's try and keep this thread just to Windows 2000. Although starting a thread like this in the XP forum would be a great idea as well for those who are looking for these old links and cannot find them on the regular web. But that way it's easier to find when it's in the right forum.

Pretty sure someone figured out a method of getting the non-EN files as well (on MSFN?).

Speaking from my experience, it is actually very difficult to find working links for non-EN updates. Especially when it comes to less used languages you have to spend a lot of time in Google and even then in some cases the links are simply not indexed at all :(

Now we still can download some update files from windows catalog site, also in other languages.

I recommend that we download available files before microsoft deletes them.

Also, FWIW, if you go get the http://xdot.tk script and look inside it all the direct download links are there for EN.

I agree that is a great resource; my concern is that using direct Microsoft links will fail in the future.

This is why it is so important to utilize the WayBack Machine when pointing people to unsupported software; people accessing these threads in the future will at some point be unable to access these downloads with the Microsoft links.

@sdfox7 - And why do you think I suggested getting that?

Use the links inside and go to WebArchive to search for the particular file.

What happens if they disappear direct? How will anyone know what the *original* direct link was?

Amirite, or what? ;)

I got original direct link from Windows Update database file.

File name is DataStore.edb.

http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/ese_database_view.html

DB File can be read with ese database viewer.

But it can get only native language.

If you want other language version, change some registries and clean up windows update folder SoftwareDistribution.
