Ive been through task scheduler, I'm familiar with the windows services menu, and ive looked through process lasso which is similar to third party process explorer and I have both. Not sure where you are finding these. That said I personally would preserve windows update because windows is buggy as hell this release and I read something about how power is handled to the GPU which is clearly a notebook service. Looks like powershell. Ive mentioned elsewhere to a relevant highly active member I couldn't get this working but time constraints I'm assured are the reason for no pursuit of clarity. Ive tried running scripts elsewhere on this forum and as admin but they didn't do s***. I wish people were more clear. I put a lot of effort into making my guide techtard proof. Just scanned entire windows 10 section of the forum. Literally this thread and mine are the only ones concerned with making windows 10 not such a fat w****? I would like to add powershell tweaks to my guide since that seems to be the only thing it lacks, apart from perhaps more task scheduler stuff. Ive found powershell stuff elsewhere in google from this site but I don't see it listed in this section is the point.

That's a very interesting idea.  As long as the server OS has the base desktop capabilities, it likely is if anything more configurable than the Win 10 Pro release.  Then it becomes a task of improving the professional server for desktop use, rather than trying to cut down the garbageware supplied for the consumer OS.  I need to find the time to experiment with that.

I've had a most brutal day doing software work...  Trying to integrate no fewer than 5 open source libraries.  I can barely think enough to post this.

I'm not confident in my ability with powershell but even if I have to do the heavy lifting its time to compile a singular complete guide that takes all users into account instead of the statistical probability. I'm about to try your script as admin, and I'm going to have to learn how to do it without the above pointed out. I'm recognizing some ive already manually turned off.

sorry to dredge this up but i took a break for a while, am now doing a w10 debloat experiment on mydigitallife forums. (you can find downloads there)

service disabler batch files

component removal batch files

being using 10 for months now without problems, after disabling 95% of the tasks and over 100 services.

interesting post. I just mentioned nlite [vlite] in a post. i used it on my windows xp pc

and i might give the .iso another try on a solid state disk. Nlite reduced the size on this .iso

to a 200MB windows installation and i still could use the windows update service.

i find this thread very interesting.  my current Enterprise x64 runs at 900mb out of 8gb of ram and is very snappy with very little removed (in my opinion) through these same processes, but i had a hard time finding some package names and had to use other people's tools which i do not like. 

having a script that can do all that i want post boot, or one that i can use to do offline image servicing is best.  i prefer offline servicing, but online works better for some things

I've taken rancorx2's lists and made them into readable lists in a text editor so you can actually see what is being done easily, and for easier use in copy and pasting for scripting purposes or one by one applications.

I like the concept of the feature removals with DISM.  I hadn't thought of it.  Do you have a reference link handy showing the list of features?

For example, if I want to retain Internet Explorer capability, would I want to execute the following?

nope, you wouldn't want to remove that and retain ie

it was notated in the OP's original listing, but honestly that's self explanatory and therefore does not require notation. if one can't see that they should be ill advised to remove anything...

and, I only made made those lists into readable commands because they were terribly formatted in the original posts. I may go back and fix this later

as far as a reference link for all packages I do not have but the OP might. the only way to get the names of about 1700+ packages is to take ownership and make visible their hidden registry keys which is not documented very well anywhere in my opinion, as far as being condensed in one place and understandable.

but there are tutorials in various places for that, even here on this site. doing the work manually for the ones that use install_win_tweak.exe is better in my opinion and much cleaner, mainly because the OP doesn't even have the correct cmdline options set to clear ownership before removing the package and the aforementioned exe when used incorrectly could cause irreparable system or dependencie damage in the future. 

there's a thread over at MDLforums that mentions this as well as the manual way of removing the registry keys and packages. you'll need an account to view the posts, very informative and not just related to telemetry, the title is misleading

So it's like most other tweaking, then...  Try it and see what happens.  I removed all the optional features listed except the IE one in my Creator's Update VM, and am testing.  So far so good...
