BlitzKrieg
A friend of mine's IE crapped out on him and since you can not download/fix it from Microsoft's site how can I JUST reinstall the included IE6 on his machine without reinstallation of windows server 2003? DirtDevil
Reinstall Internet Explorer? Edit sysoc.inf (C:\Windows\inf\) first. Remove any hide or HIDE.for example:Cluster=clusocm.dll,ClusOcmSetupProc,clusocm.inf,hide,7-->Cluster=clusocm.dll,ClusOcmSetupProc,clusocm.inf,,7Now, you can delete the component:Start -> Control Panel -> Software -> Add/Remove Windows-Componentslook out for Internet Explorer and unselect it.Download Internet Explorer here. XtremeMaC
does that really remove. i mean if u look at xp's sysoc.inf it just removes the shortcut on the desktop..
DirtDevil
Didn't think about that... I once had a problem with IE and just reinstalled it. It solved my problem... But this doesn't solve most of the problems... Try to execute these line to uninstall:RunDLL32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection C:\Windows\inf\ie.inf, Base.SysDir.DelFilesRunDLL32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection C:\Windows\inf\ie.inf, Base.AppDir.DelFilesRunDLL32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection C:\Windows\inf\ie.inf, Base.WinDir.DelFilesRunDLL32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection C:\Windows\inf\ie.inf, Base.DelRegWarning:I didn't try this myself... cause I don't wanna uninstall my IE. Maybe it works, maybe it doesn't... I hope it does...

I've tried this already...oh well I'll just convert him to Opera and be done with it.
