As the title says, I wanted to ask it, is it possible to install windows 2000 on my HP Pavilion G6 2303su? My laptop is using AMD HD Graphics 7600M and Intel HD Graphics 4000.

Is it possible for someone to edit atleast the Intel HD Graphics driver to be running well on Win 2k?

Any help will be greatly apreciated!

BlackWingCat made a modified Intel HD 4 series driver for Windows 2000 that you may try: http://blog.livedoor.jp/blackwingcat/archives/1165914.html

You may also try manually installing the XP driver through device manager to bypass an OS check during install. It is doubtful it would work as support for Windows 2000 ended many years ago. You have to remember Windows 2000 was only on the market for a year before XP was launched: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/22642/Intel-HD-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-XP-exe-

Nice!

Only one thing left before I start the installation, the WiFi (LAN) driver.

Can somebody help me? Here is the official HP Drivers site: http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-pavilion-g6-2300-notebook-pc-series/5330578/model/5367495#Z7_3054ICK0K8UDA0AQC11TA930O2

I have already tested Windows XP on my computer and it is working all just fine. The only thing is that I'll have trouble finding my Windows XP LAN driver again for someone to bypass os check.

By the way guys, how to Bypass OS Check?    EDIT: I just got it wrong. Now I know what you mean.

Any help will be appreciated. :angel

Do you know which WiFi adapter you have? That machine had options for Atheros, Intel, and Ralink. I always write down hardware (chipset, video, sound, and network) before formatting. Once you've formatted it can be impossible to know what hardware you have.

I think I am using: "Ralink RT3290 802.11bgn WiFi Adapter".

If someone can Bypass the OS Check on this driver for Windows XP, will be amazing!

By the way, I wanted to say thank you for entering that deep in my problem! :w00t: You are one good person!

actually it is not about "Bypass the OS Check" but different NDIS version.

Device vendors use new Windows DDK, which has newer NDIS and that means newer API that is not available in older Windows(e.g. XP/2003)

Ok then is it possible to make my WiFi adapter working on Windows 2000?

try *NOT* using installer, but just pointing to XP INF location in driver installation dialog.

Try to extract  Windows2000-KB979683-v16c-x86-JPN.exe.

and copy ndis.sys to system32\drivers and reboot.

it can skip NDIS 5.1 version checker .
