Tommy Posted July 16, 2015 Posted July 16, 2015 I wondered what in the heck was going on. It seemed to be working just fine and then all of a sudden, Flash was blocked and I knew it wasn't an old version. Thanks for the update.
dencorso Posted July 17, 2015 Author Posted July 17, 2015 It's due to the 0-days that surfaced with The Hacking Team leak... However, this ability the FF team has of blocking things suddenly from their side is surely annoying, to say the least!
jaclaz Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 Well, this time it seems like it is a serious issue, not the usual media hype/fluff:http://www.pcworld.com/article/2945472/cybercriminals-start-using-flash-zeroday-exploit-leaked-from-hacking-team.htmlhttps://krebsonsecurity.com/2015/07/third-hacking-team-flash-zero-day-found/ jaclaz

An XP Thinkpad is among the machines I use on a daily basis. In fact, Flash Player 19 Beta is already available (http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/flashplayer.html) and the system requirements have not changed: http://labsdownload.adobe.com/pub/labs/flashruntimes/shared/air19_flashplayer19_releasenotes.pdf
Monroe Posted November 22, 2015 Posted November 22, 2015 Not to take issue with anything ... I've been using this version since around October 27th. Shockwave Player 12.2.1.171 http://filehippo.com/download_shockwave/tech/ Title: Shockwave Player 12.2.1.171Filename: Shockwave_Installer_Full.exeFile size: 13.25MB (13,895,144 bytes)Requirements: Windows XP / Vista / Windows7 / XP64 / Vista64 / Windows7 64 / Windows8 / Windows8 64Languages: Multiple languagesLicense: FreewareDate added: October 27, 2015Author: Adobe Systems Incwww.adobe.com...
dencorso Posted November 22, 2015 Author Posted November 22, 2015 No issue taken. Then again, the link I gave is to the official non-adware installer (yes: there are two types of installer!)... 1
Monroe Posted November 22, 2015 Posted November 22, 2015 OK ... that's good to know. I had a feeling you posted the information for a reason. I would rather have that version ... With the FileHippo version I always have the Google Chrome toolbar and one other item with a check box ... I have to uncheck two boxes but the Google Chrome thing still seems to be installed. One of my registry cleaners will still find it and I remove it for good. RegCleaner 4.3 by Jouni Vuorio will pull it up even though it was not supposed to be installed, since I removed the checkmark. I'd like to know the exact link to that Adobe Shockwave download page so I can use that version from now on. I've been downloading the File Hippo version for years and always fooling around with those Google toolbar checkmarks. The direct link for Adobe Shockwave is here: https://get.adobe.com/shockwave/This will direct you tohttps://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/shockwave/default/english/win95nt/latest/Shockwave_Installer_Slim.exeThe funny thing you'll notice is that it is still hosted in the "win95nt" directory which is surely ancient by now! 1

I've been downloading the File Hippo version for years and always fooling around with those Google toolbar checkmarks. The link I gave, namely: sw_lic_full_installer.exe always points to the current (= latest) non-adware English version... It's actually a permanent link. 1
