Windows 10 DEVELOPMENT

For me AeroGlass is not working on build 10041. What can I do to make this working properly?

Can someone tell my what to do? (I don't know, i wrote that correcty, sorry for my english).

If you have it installed, completely uninstall it including the folder.   Now, when you install v1.3.1 DO NOT CHECK the shiny theme or the protect boxes.  It should work now.  If you have inserted your license (assuming you have one) you must do another step.  What I did was boot into SAFE mode, and delete the dwmcore.pdb FILE in the symbols\dwmcore.pdb\string of numbers and letters folder.  I replaced it with a TEXT file which I renamed dwmcore.pdb.   Make sure it is saved exactly as dwmcore.pdb, and NOT dwmcore.pdb.txt.  Reboot normally. Now it should work.

When you restart a window will pop up which says Windows can not hook your version of DWM.  Click on cancel.

You don't need to start in safe mode to delete dwmcore.pdb. You can delete it in normal windows. It better to delete the whole symbol folder and donating key. If you leave donating key in there it causes aero glass to download incorrect symbols and have to wait for almost 5 mins for "Windows can not hook your version of DWM" pop window to appear. Whilst with no key that window pop up straight away. The free version window will only pop up once and no watermark appears. I was told to do it that way from DosProbie http://www.msfn.org/board/topic/173379-windows-10/page-14#entry1096505

It's not "normal" in 1.3.1/1.3.2, but apparently exists because it's not really fully installed properly.

But even with some visual glitches it's better than the eyesore that is the out-of-box Windows 10.

Yes, I'm being intentionally over-emphatic.  There have been worse themes *cough* win8 *cough*.

Hmm, windows 8 did not bother me as much as 10 does so far. Unless I go backwards in time 10 is to date the worst looking for me. The only reason 1.0 through ME does not bother me is because those were new and improving with each release, and we didnt know better, lol. Now on the other hand, we had Vista and then 7, which both aesthetically wowed me out of the box. Vista with its Live Wallpapers, although very resource intensive, was just impressive.

Now though, efficiency seems to be more important. I agree, I would rather efficient over looks any day. Why, well because we have communities like this that will take care of the aesthetics anyway... hahaha, so I guess its back to the days of XP, when I had to run themes in order to like my computer.... lol that's ok with me.

I HAD to delete in safe mode because my whole freaking screen went black!   :thumbdown

Well I Always have a Tri-boot system on my Test-PC with Windows 7, 8.1 and the build flavor of the month but also I Always set a System Restore Point with doing any Testing which helps keep me out of hot water.

Thanks DosProbie.

Got it (aero glass in windows 10) working at least to some degree following these guides:

Is there a way to keep task-bar transparent permanently? because for some reason the transparency in task-bar disappears and taskbarblur.cmd has to be restarted again. I will try the more recent TaskbarBlur.vbs option by adding it in the startup.

Truncate off the " will" from the end of the link, ie the link should end with "/" and it will come up fine. :)

Cheers and Regards
