NoelC
Assuming of course you're running a desktop system, one possible workaround is to get out of the habit of running any Metro/Modern App full screen, but to run them either windowed or "maximized windowed". You lose a bit of screen real estate keeping the title bar displayed, but you don't lose control. I'm teetering on removing the "full screen" part of that. It was viable to avoid Apps altogether in Win 8.1, but there's no denying Microsoft is pushing a "Universal App future" while simultaneously killing off the desktop. Sooner or later useful Apps should start to appear in the App Store. It's possible there will be improvements in the next build. It seems many folks are disappointed with the present level of integration between the desktop and Metro/Modern Apps. There are also some bad interactions with the buttons in windowed mode too. I often have to click the [ X ] several times to get a Metro/Modern App to close. -Noel
My1
well I mostly dont use fullscreen but in a few instances -> gallery or "gaming" (as far as it gets in the WinStore) I rather use fullscreen... a good thing ot modern mix was the ability to override the titlebar of apps and rather have a small icon at the top right that could push apps back into a window. daveo76
It looks like some kind of Explorer bug that this titlebar sometimes stops displaying. I cannot do anything with this, because this "edge" titlebar is not my invention. No worries. I never use full screen anyways except for some games. You improving Windows 10 heaps better

NoelC
Please let us know, Dave. I don't see anything in the screen grabs being published that makes me think they have to have reorganized things in Aero. Such as it is, Aero does seem to work okay in build 9926. I wonder whether Microsoft publishes the symbols for inner ring builds on the normal symbol servers. They might, considering the audience for those builds, while restricted, isn't trivial, and I'm sure not all co-located. -Noel

My1
but well unless the symbols are nicely stored somewhere in the system to work the possibility for it to work is zero, as they have to be DLed from MS and why should they upload symbols from a non-published build... NoelC
So... Another Win 10 build, number 10041, is upon us. And just when we had the prior build working so smoothly with Aero Glass and all the other programs necessary to make it reasonable to work with. Sigh. Big Muscle, as always, post if you need help, info, testing, etc. -Noel

However, 10041 is a MUCH better build on my machine. 10 hours straight of installing apps and software and testing everything from TeamViewer sessions to RDP sessions, to non stop gaming sessions, well for about an hour anyway. I can't seem to find anything broken, but I'm trying lol. And the big plus for me is it seems to run everything twice as fast. Also, Cortana is finally working perfectly for me. The only time she hesitated is when I asked her her age. LOL Edited March 19, 2015 by }SkOrPn--'
NoelC
Well, it's not as bad as I first thought. The symbols can't be downloaded yet, but whatever fallback search algorithm Big Muscle implemented seems to work! I have Aero Glass in Win 10 build 10041! Life is getting better. The theme atlas is very little different, and I've already got a draft of my gel button version going. Now I have to try to find the new parameter Big Muscle added to override the border sizes. I didn't document it and I've lost track of what thread it's in. Edit: Found - http://www.msfn.org/board/topic/173379-windows-10/page-7#entry1093671 Big Muscle, perhaps if you get a moment consider adding the FrameMargin setting to your user documentation on: http://www.glass8.eu/guide.html -Noel Edited March 19, 2015 by NoelC
NoelC
Well, that went wrong rather quickly. As soon as Aero Glass got the proper symbols downloaded this morning, DWM went into a restart loop. Here are some pertinent files that may help you find the problem, Big Muscle:http://Noel.ProDigitalSoftware.com/ForumPosts/Win10/10041/debug.loghttp://Noel.ProDigitalSoftware.com/ForumPosts/Win10/10041/minidump-03-19-10-25-54.dmphttp://Noel.ProDigitalSoftware.com/ForumPosts/Win10/10041/minidump-03-19-10-25-42.dmp I'll experiment with it some more to make sure it's not something I'm causing somehow.-Noel
MaaQ
Did you notice: Windows 10 is NATIVE testing version glass system? Found powershell settings. http://postimg.org/image/z40o3rk0x/ this picture is taken build 9926. Now build 10041 is native glass look start menu, taskbar etc... Did we need aero glass program anymore?
bigmuscle
This is not Aero Glass, it is just pure layered window transparency which is there since Windows XP.
