Help for the use of NTLite

Recommended Posts

Hello

I'm testing NTLite (full) and I have some questions

1) I have not found different components to be removed (compared to vLite)

- DVD Maker
- File and printer sharing (Server)
- Sync Center

And for the "services Windows"

- DNS
- IP Helper

2) And there are no options for parametrer Windows services (choose between auto, manual, etc ...)?

3) How to remove "upgrade" and "support" folder in ISO

4) For the license that is appropriate to save the dat file, then copy at a new use.

Tonight I reinstalled NTLite, copy the license.dat file in the folder NTLite (C:\Program Files\NTLite) but when I opened NTLite, it was asked to trial or to indicate the licence

Thanks so much for your help :)

PS: Sorry for all these questions

Hi bapt,

1. DVD Maker not yet, but File Sharing and Sync Center are there. Please use Find box in the toolbar of Removals page. Both are in Network. Maybe confusing for Sync Center to be under Offline Files, but I found that to be a dependency.

2. It's in Settings - Machine - Services

3. It asks for a key, but it should not go online and spend another activation. To prevent any kind of popup copy settings.xml as well in the future. If you then get the prompt, then make sure it is the same hardware and all drivers installed. If that doesn't help contact me and I'll check what went wrong and restore your activations.

During installation, how to remove the "Upgrade" option

Was that initiated from another windows (setup.exe)? If so, I recommend booting from a USB stick instead.

You can also use setup.exe with the autounattend.xml generated by NTLite, search around how to do it, but I still recommend USB stick installation for clean boot and format/delete previous Windows first.

Of course make sure all your files are backed up and so on, the basics.

Thank you for your response

1) I found Sync Center but for "File and printer sharing (Server)" it's File Sharing Support?

I have to delete everything (SMB Server 1 and 2 and SMB v1 and v2)?
I would keep the "windows service" Wokstation

2) looking more and I found, the list is not complete (that is ongoing I guess)

3) ok for the license, I'll try that. It also works after reinstalling Windows?

I always install windows with a USB stick.
it's ok after setting the Automation

And other question :blushing:

- How to remove "upgrade" and "support" folder in ISO

I can also delete with NTLite

To summarize my questions (whether more comprehensive)

1) for equivalent to "File and printer sharing (Server)", I deleted SMB Server 1 and 2 (File Sharing Support) but that's not it. It must be something else but I can not find

I looked everywhere, but I have not found (or maybe the names changed completely)

2) How to remove "upgrade" and "support" folder in ISO (if possible with RTlite)

3) If I remove Windows Firewall, I have an error message at the end of the installation
Probably deleted files that should not be.

Which file I need to save?

4) Is what will be possible to add these component to remove

  • WinBioPlugIns (folder in System32, The biometric components, I believe)
  • Getting Started
  • Credential Manager
  • Sensors
  • Natural Languages (and windows search "protected" (not deleted))

Thanks so much for your help and sorry for all these questions

1) I guess you want to remove Server and keep Workstation? Workstation is Computer Browser component, Server is File Sharing Support indeed. I'll see about splitting that better so that server has its own branch.

3) yes

4) Search for Support, and Manual Setup in Removals, they are under System

5) Got your Firewall report and replicated, will fix in next version, thx for the heads up.

Hello

Ok thank you for your reply and rapidity

1) Yes, in fact I would like to have as with vLite, remove File and Printer Sharing (Server) and keep the Workstation service

For the moment it is not included in NTlite and you'll include it, if I understood (I do not have very good English)

4) Thanks, I had not seen for Manual Setup (I was looking just for Upgrade and Support)

5) Thanks for the firewall, looking forward to testing the next version

Thanks so much for your great work :)

  • Credential Manager
  • Sensors
  • Natural Languages (and windows search "protected" (not deleted))
