How to make "extract icon here" file context menu

That is a drag n drop app and context menu will not work, but you can just pin to the taskbar and extract your icons to the desktop from there. FYI, nirsoft also offers a free icon extractor (IconsExtract v1.47) and you Can do the context menu with it. http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/iconsext.html

Why not/since when? :w00t:

 

When you drag and drop AFAIK the filename (including path) of the dragged an' dropped item is passed to the destination (like %1).

And specifically, you can run that icon extractor from a command prompt fine with - as argument - the file (or folder containing the files) from which you want to extract the icons.

 

What may be pointless :unsure: is that the icons will go in a \icons folder in the same path as the BatchIconExtractor.exe, and you may soon have it full of "mixed" icons unless you empty it before extracting more icons.
