Missing files during installation

Recommended Posts

OK...I am a new member..and this place is awesome.

For my first attempt with Slipstreaming, I took a XP Pro CD, and slipstreamed SP1a.

I then Slipstreamed Sp2 RC1....

Everything worked perfectly for the unattended installation EXCEPT...during the initial file copy from the CD(the blue screen), i get the following error:

Setup cannot copy the file:

And it happens several times, with the following files:

iac25_32.ax

ir41_32.ax

ir41_qc.dll

ir41_qcx.dll

ir50_32.dll

ir50_qc.dll

ir50_qcx.dll

ivfsrc.ax

When it does, I hit ESC, and it skips the file. The rest works perfectly.

Any ideas how to correct this? I would love to have the PERFECT unattended install CD

SP1 removes these files when slipsteamed. Copy them from you original cd into your slipstreamed Sps I386 folder.

the missing files are for the indeo codec microsoft knows of this problem

I followed your advice. That worked for the first 2 files, and the last 1. I can't seem to find it on my XP CD. (i lost my original, the only thing I have is the 5 in 1 CD)...

I'm nto sure about these files:

ir41_qc.dll

ir41_qcx.dll

ir50_32.dll

ir50_qc.dll

ir50_qcx.dll

I found them all on:

DLL Files

I just want to make sure they are the right ones before I copy them over...

  • 1 year later...

hi all

I'm new to MSFN and in really bad need to create a custom version of windows xp for my department. I slipstreamed a XP sp1 CD with SP2 and then integrated some hotfixes that are required by my work place. but after creating and mounting the ISO image in VMware, I get several "missing files" errors in the blue screen setup stage. :blushing:

I need to create a clean unattended installation XP CD and would very much appreciate if some one can help me to over come my problem.

I used nlite to slipstream., If I only slipstream SP2 then there is no prob. but the integration of hotfixes causes the bug. and I have noticed that after hotfixing the size of XPCD reduce dramatically..

please help........

thanks

TT
