3. Compress to SFX EXE file. Delta compression optional.

Where to get an info on it (guide and tools)? I meant "Delta compression optional" :)

I just need to repack few older hotfixes for using in regular Windows XP (f.e. KB2095711, it has ProductSuit ==EmbeddedNT restriction) :)

I installed five of harkaz's modified updates yesterday.

KB2953522 (IE8), KB2932079 (.NET 2.0), KB2931365 (.NET 4.0), KB2931352 (.NET security update), and KB2926765 (XP security update).

All seemed well, but a while after the updates were installed, the machine suddenly blue screened.

The stop error was 0x0000004E, PFN_LIST_CORRUPT, apparently thrown by ntoskrnl.exe.

On restart, the machine seemed OK again.

However this morning, after booting up and leaving it for a while, I found it with another BSOD.

This time the stop error 0x00000044, MULTIPLE_IRP_COMPLETE_REQUESTS.

Any ideas? I am a bit suspicious of KB2931352, as that seemed to replace a lot of .NET files, including some that were from ten years ago!

What is the current status of patch for .NET Framework 1.1 marked KB2931352. Do BSOD after installing this patch are no longer present and you can install without worrying about the "side effects"?

Primum non nocere! Was this Latin rule will be retained here?

Thank you in advance for your reply :)

Um, egrabrych, you should read further from that post. It was a Symantec module -and- the Update program was further modded.

Do read the WHOLE thread before raising issues that no longer exist.

edit - in addition, might I recommend that the 1.1, then 2.0, then 4.0 be installed in that order, -providing- you have those dotNet versions installed.

On a finer reading we have:

Bulletin #7 ("Tampering") surely is not even applicable to XP (since it's not applicable to Vista and both Servers 2k3 and 2k8)

Bulletin #6 probably doesn't apply either (because it's not applicable to Server 2k3).

So we're left with just 3 updates that apply.

OTOH, Bulletin #3 applies to Microsoft Office Compatibility Pack Service Pack 3, so it may be useful for those using Office 97 or higher.

Well, at the moment of this waiting 2 (two) days will allow everyone to read the actual Bulletin instead of (IMHO) wasting time in (still IMHO) nonsensical guesses through nitpicking on an "Advance Notification".

Do check the But ... then, why? in my signature.

But... then, why would MS even release those "Advance Notifications", if not for people to nitpick over them and/or hazard conflicting guesses, based solely on the meager info bits they provide?

Hmmm.

That may be  the reason why "they" do it :w00t:, but it is NOT  a valid reason for "us" to fall for it.

And now, for NO apparent reason, a fake Magritte ;):

Now we know that Bulletin #7 == MS14-030 and Bulletin #6 == MS14-031 (and, BTW, Bulletin #5 == MS14-032) and that all my senseless hazarded guesses turned out to be right (and below I list which updates belong to which bulletins, including MS14-034 == Bulletin #3, the one that apples to MS Office Compatibility Pack SP3):
