It does not help, however, because we currently do not know what the original state was.Ideally, one would need another Surface to gather valid disk and BCD settings. You can assume the verbatim state of a fresh OEM Windows installation (using the partition layout above) would be sufficient for my needs. I am looking for things like commands to re-create a BCD store, as well as completely re-initialize all relevant boot sectors, etc. I don't know whatever else may be required, so that's part of the question too, I suppose. cubedj21 Posted May 14, 2014 Share Posted May 14, 2014 I don't see any problem with your partition layout - EFI system parittion & Recovery partition should remain hidden... to get rid of the legacy boot menu and restore Win8 gui boot menu simply use command "bcdboot c:\Windows"if you need to recover & repair older or corrupted boot entries, Visual BCD Edior is good tool to achieve this goal ) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
