Ironman69
hello fellas, I recently got rid of Internet Explorer 6 and in doing so I lost some functionality with my Windows Media Player 9. For instance, when I play a file, the progress slider on the bottom is gone. I cannot rewind or fast forward the video or song. Also, I cannot play .wma files any longer thru Media Player or even Winamp will not recognize it, although VLC will still play them. Maybe when I deleted IE 6, it also took some much needed .dll files with it ? Any help is appreciated.

DougB
When i excise IE6 from my Win98SE, i use IEradicator:http://www.litepc.com/ieradicator.htmland my WMP9 is always ok (altho i hardly ever use it -- better media players around). It did delete a couple of .DLLs that other programs have needed, but they were easily re-installed. VLC contains its own codecs, so that's why it can play your file. To play .WMA and .WMV files, try installing this pack of MS codecs (be sure to get the Win98 version):http://www.codecguide.com/windows_media_codecs.htmI don't think it will help with the interface problems though. (I'm assuming you already tried to re-install WMP.) - Doug B.
