few problems with the 1.0

1. there are no files where i told the installer to install it to.

2. i have put my donation.key in the location i told it to install to, and i still get the donation nag

3. it is not using my settings and themeatlas...this was all working in the rc3

4. i looked in task scheduler it is pointing to the location i told the installer to install to, not sure how it is running tho as again there are no files except the donation.key in that location

edit:

ok i fixed it by doing the following

1. download the 7z instead of the installer

2. delete the entry in task scheduler

3. kill all instances of aerohost.exe

4. copy the install.bat from the rc3 dir to the one i created for the 1.0, and run it

1.0 now works as expected, symbols are downloaded and themeatlas and settings are used

bigmuscle there is nothing wrong with the 1.0 that i can see, the installer just needs a bit of work

It is as I said:

You simply must use some tool which enables blur behind taskbar and disables accent on taskbar. Aero Glass is just native rendering engine and it's not there to explicitly change any window style.

How? After apply OpaqueTaskbar and reboot system, taskbar back to default Win8.1 transparency (3rd image in 59th post)

Removing the text in title bar and setting "TextGlowMode" to 0x0 will cause this

--REMOVED PICTURE--

The frames are invisible and the caption buttons are messed up. Setting "TextGlowMode" to 0x3 will solve the problem

Removed the text in titlebar with this

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop\WindowMetrics]
"CaptionFont"=hex:f1,ff,ff,f1,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,90,01,00,00,\

This seems to be just one problem - it installed to different location. Please uninstall a run setup again with command line parameter /LOG="log.txt", so:

setup.exe /LOG="log.txt"

and be sure you have write access to the folder where setup.exe is located. After install (if it still does not work) provide generated log.txt.

I want it to be so:

With OpaqueTaskbar turns:

Without OpaqueTaskbar turns:

1.Install StartIsBack Plus and select Disable start menu translucency and Disable taskbar translucency.

2.Use regedit settings:

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\DWM]"BlurDeviation"=dword:00000030[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\DWM]"BlurDeviation"=dword:00000030

3.Settings for BlurDeviation are from 0 TO 100, Default is 30

BlurDeviation is not from 0 to 100 and there is no reason to set this settings in registry if he does not want to change amount of the blur. And setting it to 30 has absolutely no sense.

0 TO 100 works for me ;)

0 Gives me full clear Transparency. :w00t:

100 Gives Total Blur. :w00t:

http://glass8.berlios.de/guide.html

BlurDeviation DWORD Standard deviation for Gaussian blur, default = 30 (which means σ = 3.0) <- Confusing

Value 0 results in non-blurred transparency.

Of course, both values will work but it's not limited to this range only.

chmichael: do not install custom glass theme during Aero Glass installation. Or delete HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\DWM:CustomThemeAtlas registry value.

Can't you support Atlas on custom themes ? I need to enable Glow effect on this theme! :(

Thank you

That's why the EULA for the installer says its for Advanced users only. ;)

Aint nobody got time to explain how everything works with this when there's two threads that already explain everything if you read.

ok thanks for the attention, the time you lost writing that could have put the topic that explains not think, but that's okay since I discovered alone as works on another forum, where staff have more time ... vlw
