Microsoft recognizes that the more testers who provide feedback the better; hence it releases Technical Previews.

Sure :), and the net result of this "vast" testing is Wndows 8/8.1 and now 10.

LOL.  And here I thought the previews were being released in order to herd hapless sheeple into liking what Microsoft says they should like.  We see how well that's working.  We're here in this very thread because "less is better" sometimes simply isn't.

Patience my half-shaven friends.  Progress on restoring sanity after Microsoft's snipping appears very good so far.  Very good indeed.

hey BM, you told me that I can set the transparency for inactive windows according to your guide, but even if I have that driven up to ff, like in ff000000 (complete black) I still have very transparent inactive windows, you know why?

for inactive I whited my usual green tone a bit out and it looks splendid.

Heh, earlier today I created another user on my Win 10 test setup for some unprivileged user testing of my own software (did I ever mention that I think UAC is a poor implementation of a bad idea?) and wow, I almost puked after having used Aero Glass and my replacement theme atlas on my normal Win 10 account.  It really illustrates how far from "the norm" I configure my Windows systems to be.

Doesn't Microsoft have ANYONE on staff with even the slightest bit of perceptive sensibilities?

To be honest, I like the UAC quite a bit, especially since it's less annoying than a superuser request in Linux where I always have to enter my pass while in win I only have yes and no while being an admin and the idea of not letting the admin permissions get out of control is nice imo

But truly the implementation is far sway from perfect.

I have no big problem with UAC either. In Vista, it was really horrible but now it is in acceptable state. The only problem I see is that it really does not help anything much - advanced user knows what he installs/executes on his computer and beginners will confirm "You need admin privileges to run PornoDownloader.exe" regardless of any warning.

but when something tries to auto execute from a drive by, or something that shoudlnt require admin permissions does exactly that, then it can help. my foster father is really bad with PCs and I said to him that when he sees this then something wants administrative permissions and if he doesnt expect it he should click no and tell me.

and it also is nice since you can run something as admin without either switching accounts or do some 720 degree rotations just to run your online game...

Maybe we should send a few screenshots of Win 10 with and without BM's aeroglass to the MS Win 10 feedback program. If they still don't see the obviously better UI that BM has provided (which BTW they had themselves developed earlier and then foolishly discarded), then they are either blind or monumentally thick.

That petition on windows.uservoice.com to bring back aeroglass is currently the second highest voted one, under the "Features and suggestions" category.

I hope they dont, aero4win8 is way better than the Win7 Aero which is way too stiff, and MS will probably make it even stiffer if it came back, while in BM's aero, I can customize EVERY little aspect, especially I can shut off blur...

Not that I haven't already posted screenshots, but I suspect that if Microsoft took notice of them they'd just take steps to block the kind of work BigMuscle is doing.  They really do think they know better.

Yes BM's aero is more customizable, but most users cannot/will not change registry settings or use the tool to adjust parameters.

Besides, BM's aero does not bring back the 3-D look of buttons that win 7 had. It's still flat, albeit with transparency and blur. So both have their ups and downs.

The best thing for MS to do would be to bring back aero and make it customizable like BM's, but that's expecting way too much.
