ironman14
I have installed Office 2007 on Windows 2000 (works with UURollup installed) and it installed great. Unfortunately, my product key was invalid and after a certain amount of launches, I can't edit files anymore. I now would like to uninstall this and try the office 2007 free trial, because I have a presentation I need to finish and it doesn't reduce functionality after a certain # of launches. Libreoffice has great alternatives to Word and Excel, but some features I require in powerpoint are missing in Libreoffice Impress, like circular/triangular crops and command buttons. However, when I try to uninstall it from the control panel, it says something like:"Setup cannot proceed because a required file is either corrupted or not found. Run the program from the original disc or download location." The same thing happens when I try using setup from the real CD. Fix-it won't work because it requires XP+ to be used.UPDATE: THis is now solved. Edited December 7, 2013 by ironman14
submix8c
There SHOULD be an "office cleanup" somewhere on the CD. ARG! Nope, not in 2K7 and up.Did you reference this?http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301You PROBABLY tried the "fix-it" from here -http://support.microsoft.com/kb/928218Note it also explains Manual Uninstall. You could also try this (not endorsing it, use at your OWN risk) -http://www.raymond.cc/blog/uninstall-microsoft-office-2007-in-vista-and-xp/Next time, don't use a bogus version. Only a Full Enterprise will auto-activate with the correct key. Any others will probably be "used" (pirated) keys with ANY other version. P.S. Don't ask any more about Enterprise. FYI, Legit Home and Student is cheap on the internet about now.
ironman14
I'll try looking at some of these, although I had a real copy. It's just that I unfortunately had an OEM version, which has been used.
Ponch
You could try reinstalling then uninstalling, it sometimes work in this kind of situation.
ironman14
@Ponch I may have tried that, but I literally just saw your post.@submix8c I tried the cleaner, but it did not work with windows 2000. I put manual install aside as I was pretty sure it would work, but since it seemed a bit complicated. Then I tried the last link, and it worked. submix8c
Could you maybe Edit the First Post and put something like "Solved" in it?(AFAICR, I had used that "software" before to remove a gorked-up OEM-Preinstall-supplied Trial install...)
