nLite creating installation "cd" on usb

I have a little netbook that has died and I can't get rid of the blue screen. I've tried everything to get past it. There is no data on it I'm concerned about, so I'm at the point where I just want to wipe it and reinstall windows xp home edition. I have a reinstallation disk for xp, but since the netbook has no disk drive, I was following an article from LifeHacker on how to use nLite to create the "cd" on a usb drive. I started down the process, but then I wanted to be sure I don't mess this computer I'm using up. This computer has Windows 7 on it. Is it safe to create this usb on this computer without messing up its settings? The article is below. THanks a ton!

Don't see where that mentions a CD on USB Drive. Just creating an ISO/CD. You're actuallly in the wrong sub-forum.

You should be looking/posting here for nLite -

And posting/looking here for Install from USB -

Also pay attention to FAQ's in nLite sub-forum.
