Aero Glass ThemeAtlas

Recommended Posts

NoelC, can you tell is it possible to make win8rtm atlas theme for windows 8.1 have white window border like win8cp theme has?

Thanks!

Your instructions are a bit vague, but I transplanted the borders and drop shadows from the Win 8 CP theme atlas you supplied into the Win 8 RTM theme atlas.

I haven't tested this at all, nor did I do anything to the glow in that I had done before.  Please let me know if you find the above PNG to be what you want.  If not, please be specific and I can easily do more surgery.  :)

NoelC, here is the the result:

You see, i want flat theme with white border around windows. It seems like after adding border, windows buttons(minimize...close) lost flatness and become more 3d-like(like in windows 7).

Maby i want a strange thing though..

If you remove the shadows, it will look more flat.  I also think you want buttons without the bottom shadowing.

@klasik, let me re-check my work.  Maybe somehow the two got mixed where they shouldn't have...

Yes, I screwed up and left all the resources from the CP to mix with those of the RTM.  Too much rush.  Sorry!  Try this one:

I've made some tweaks to my Atlas theme and since everything seems to look and function like I want, I thought why not to share it so you can try it out if you like!

Layout file is also attached in the zip, because I made some modifications to the button margins and messed with the image positions a bit. :P

EDIT:

I'm glad you people like it, so many downloads! :)

Uploaded another update to make the button symbols appear more shaded and tweaked all the button symbols once for all. So nothing big really, but I felt that I had to adjust those symbols because they look better this way. Maybe I'll tweak the windows shadows in the future...

Kankipappa, great theme, thanks!!

Can you make it look more flat? Is it achievable by editing layout file that come with the theme(in this case can you give some hints about parameters in this file that need to be changed)?

NoelC, what beer do you like to drink?!)

I must end up with sending you some beer in order to thank you for you work!!

Here is the result, it looks ideal for me:

P.S. Can you say, is it possible to make this atlases usefull on Windows 10 somehow?

Glad you like it.  Thanks for the beer offer, but don't worry - I'm happy to have been able to help.

As dhjohns has already confirmed, it should be possible to use that Theme Atlas on Win 10 along with Big Muscle's .layout file, which maps a Win 8 theme atlas graphic resource file to a Win 10 system...

Hmm nice work Noel.

I was only just using my Win7 powered machine in the workshop the other day thinking how I liked that the windows had a white border.

So I've just loaded your new theme on my Win8.0 lappy, good result.

,

I am actually really happy with 8.0 now. All my hardware is supported, yet has a slightly nicer overall look & functionality than Win7.

The new midnight theme for classicshell does suit it well. And its still seemingly immune to some Win10 backporting updates.

Cheers!

A kindred spirit.  Once tamed (in my case with an alternate theme, theme atlas, Aero Glass, Classic Shell, trimming/tuning, privacy tweaks) Win 8.x can actually be a nice system.  I guess all that's left is the kernel when the dust settles.  :angel

I like, for example, that there's more client area in Windows Explorer.  It's not a big thing in itself, but every little bit adds up.
