Ref post #87 above;

I find that of the three links shown, MSFN Forum/Member Contributed Projects/Windows Post-Install Wizard (WPI),

only the Member Contributed Projects does not carry to destination.

This occurs when clicking on the link as is it as shown in the post #87 pic, and also when clicking on the link

underlaying the text Member Contributed Projects as seen within the headings on the Board Forum webpage, e.g.;

"

Other Operating Systems

Member Contributed Projects

nLite

vLite

Windows Post-Install Wizard (WPI)

XPize

" etc...

Also, the full error message shown is;

"Oops! Something went wrong!

[#10339]

The topic filter settings you submitted are not valid. Please go back and reset your topic filter settings."

I'm not aware that my 'topic filter settings' are anything but the (non-touched) default for members.

Behaviour occurs with/without FF24 adBlocking plug-in active, also occurs when viewed in IE8.

Addendum1:

I find that all URL's of the format;

http://www.msfn.org/board/forum/0-

to

http://www.msfn.org/board/forum/176-

either complete, or do not complete (due to probably not existing), or do not allow completion due to

user (membership levels) permissions,

except;

http://www.msfn.org/board/forum/102-member-contributed-projects/

which alone gives the error message;

The topic filter settings you submitted are not valid. Please go back and reset your topic filter settings.

Therefore there would appear to be a genuine Board fault affecting that particular forum URL/Directory.

Cheers

xper,

On 11/6 you posted that YOU are getting notifications, but clearly several of us on this thread alone are not. I haven't been getting any for months, but used to.

Does this suggest there there may still be a problem with something on the site?

I am happy to try changing settings, or whatever you think might help, but need some instructions / suggestions. Forgive my directness (is that a word?), but telling us that you get notifications, doesn't help.

It's very difficult to use MSFN if one doesn't know when there is a reply.

Thanks in advance for your help... HELP :boring:

Ref above post #94;

PM sent to mitchsc... and some others are looking at this.

Hopefully within 5 to 7 days useful information will be forthcoming that will allow

people to determine where the problem is occuring, or at least where to start looking.

EDIT 21 Nov; So far, no settings problem found. A testing process has begun.

I'm viewing the forum using Opera Mobile Classic and there's one extremely annoying bug.

Just have a look at this :

C2A52cO.png

This "loading" message doesn't only appear twice but also doesn't disappear from the screen as it's supposed to. Once displayed, it stays this way making browsing rather difficult :}

Ref above post#98;

Mmmm, two won't die 'loading' overlays - I notice (when FF add-on AdBlockPlus is disabled) that usually there

are two advertisement block inlays in MSFN webpages, having sometimes overly animated content.

tomasz86, do you have any adblocking going on in 'Opera Mobile Classic' browser?; - if not, perhaps scan this;

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2270990

Of course, the URL's from which the advertisements are being served may change occaisionally, therefore

be prepared to 'view the source' HTML of any particular (MSFN) webpage to see what (new) advertisement URL's

have been placed within that particular webpage...

Regarding not getting email notifications of posts...

xper: Just checked in and noticed your post on 11/10. I have still not received any notifications as of today 11/12.

Many thanks to buyerninety for info in PM. One thing off the top without any testing: I have not been logging out of the forum. Maybe that's the whole problem for me. I shall do so now.

Thanks all...

I'm 99% sure it's unrelated to ad blocking. This "Loading..." message appears each time you click on a link to view a forum thread. It disappears when the topic has been opened but then, when you go back, the "Loading..." message is still present in Opera. I haven't seen this behaviour in other browsers. I think it may be caused by the way Opera handles tab history - it just reads it from cache instead of reloading the pages again.

Actually I don't really understand what such a message is really for. It's kind of useless if you ask me. The browser itself already indicates that a new URL is being loaded.

I've recorded a short video where you can see exactly what the Opera Mobile issue is about (sorry for poor video quality...):

The simplest solution would probably be to just remove this "Loading..." thing all together.

Tripredacus: I'm sorry, but how do I unsubscribe/resubscribe to a topic? Can't seem to figure that out.

buyerninety: Still need to get back to you with requested info. Got sidetracked with some HDD issues.
