Have you seen this?

We have no clue if you did things "out of order".

You CANNOT Integrate IE8 DIRECTLY! You need to create an Add-On.

Also (right at the top)

attach (not paste) your Last Session.ini
IMPORTANT!

You are NOT required to use the "Windows Media Player 11" part. It can be skipped.

okay :lol: but I have a question about the sentence ''Additionally, I use ONLY "-X- Updates Downloader, Checker and Add-on Creator" . '' -X- Updates Downloader I've downloaded but is ''Checker'' a program?? :blink: what is that? :huh: and Add-on Creator already downloaded.

but what is ''Checker'' ??

It script has a sequence where it checks for the presence of the files required.

My script is meant for ENU (english) not your language. BTW, what is the 3 letter letter sequence in your updates. Can you tell me it? Perhaps I can whip up a small script to check yours.

As far as WSUS update downloader, I was recently investigating it and found it to be inaccurate. It downloads all kinds of things.

What you should do is go to my website, http://xdot.tk/updates.html , and check the update list against what WSUS has downloaded. Delete any crap that I don't list.

Unless you are slipstreaming WMP11 like submix8c has in his thread, the updates need to be turned into add-ons.

If you plan on slipstreaming IE 8 in your language, you need Onepiece's DX Universal UpdatePack/Addon Creator - GUI version. There will be one update that will not take because of msfeedsbs.dll. It does not follow the 8.3 file naming convention. The update is the Cumulative Security Update for Internet Explorer. Currently KB2838727. You can let it be and install it after installing Windows or you can unpack the IE8 add-on that Onepiece's DX Universal UpdatePack/Addon Creator made and rename msfeedsb.dll (notice it's missing the s at the end ) to msfeedsbs.dll and then edit entries_IE8.ini. Change d1,msfeedsb.dll to d1,msfeedsbs.dll [dosnet_files] and in [txtsetup_files] change msfeedsb.dll = 100,,,,,,,2,0,0,msfeedsbs.dll to msfeedsbs.dll = 100,,,,,,,2,0,0,msfeedsbs.dll. Save entries_IE8.ini and repack the add-on with 7-zip.

''03 – Download the following to folder “XPUPDATE\WMP11”

* wmp11-windowsxp-x86-enu.exe

* All -X- UDC "Footnote 1" WindowsXP-WindowsMedia-KBn-x86-ENU.EXE files

*** DO NOT download "WindowsXP-WindowsMedia-KB952069-v2-x86-ENU.exe"!

*** KB952069 does NOT apply to WMP11! ALL OTHER files ONLY!

04 – If and ONLY IF your XP is pre-Service Pack 3''

i have an -x- UDC folder and must i copy the content of that folder to xpupdate\wm11 ? :blushing:

and this:

''07 – Using any UnZIP software, Unzip the FOLDERS inside the following

* “XPBEGIN\UDC-mm-dd-yy.ZIP” to Folder “XPUPDATE”

You will have a FOLDER “XPUPDATE\UDC-mm-dd-yy”

08 – Double-Click “XPUPDATE\UDC-mm-dd-yy\UDC-mm.dd.yy.bat“

This process will Download all Post-SP3 Updates and generate several Add-ons.

That error is because Microsoft's FTP is very flaky. It will try it 5 times and then move on to a 2nd mirror and a 3rd if needed.

If you are going to use NLD, then why are you using the UDC script. It will download ENU updates, not NLD.

Right there on the same page, left hand column, is every link - right clink and "Open in New". Change the Language to Dutch (NLD). You can change the UDC Script with the links on the "Thanks For Downloading" page because it gives the Direct Link. Right click on that link and replace the corresponding "WGET" lines with YOUR language. REMEMBER to "cancel" the download since you will be using/replacing the Direct Link in the UDC Script. Note the following (from my notes)

=== 1 - The following are Language Neutral
WindowsUpdateAgent7.6.7600.256.cab
rvkroots.January.2013.cab
Adobe.Flash.Player.cab
=== 2 - The following is generated by the UDC Script (ENU)
=== or Onepiece's DX Universal UpdatePack/Addon Creator - GUI version
=== for ANY other Language. See Post #4 in this MSFN Topic:
=== www.msfn.org/board/topic/163398-nlite-ie8-hofix-integrated-error
IE8-WindowsXP-x86-ENU.OnePiece.7z
=== 3 - The following Generated by the UDC Script (ENU)
WindowsXP-KB905474-lng-x86.cab
WindowsXP-KB975254-x86-lng.cab
WindowsXP-WindowsMedia-KB952069-v2-x86-lng.cab
WindowsXP-WindowsMedia-KB954155-x86-lng.cab
WindowsXP-WindowsMedia-KB973540-x86-lng.cab
WindowsXP-WindowsMedia-KB975558-x86-lng-fix.cab
WindowsXP-WindowsMedia-KB978695-x86-lnU.cab
WindowsXP-WindowsMedia-KB2378111-x86-lng.cab
=== 4 - All others are direct integration except Media Player 11
=== refer to my "How To Integrate" Topic for details.

Download ALL except the generated ones above in YOUR language.

Side - note - it APPEARS that the WindowsMediaPlayer Updates can be replaced in the Script as well. HOWEVER the Add/Remove Description will be in English. :unsure: Take a look inside one at the "ENTRIES_KBxxxxx.INI" (Language-specific stuff). PLEASE NOTE that following the Instructions in the "How To Integrate" Topic for WMP11 will eliminate this "problem". ;)

HTH

edit - google this EXACTLY

"WindowsXP-WindowsMedia-KB2378111-x86-NLD.exe"

There are only a few "hits" one of which is an Excel Spreadsheet (XLS) that appears to list ALL languages and MAY include most of the fixes Direct Links (Up to October 2010). The remainder use the procedure I gave above. USE ONLY THE "NLD" ONES and ONLY THOSE IN THE UDC SCRIPT!

edit2 - scratch the above - ONLY Oct. 2010. :(

edit3 - MAY be useful - list the stuff I "scratched" above. Oldest is March 2010, newest is "current". Both XLS and XLSX Spreadsheets. BUT the problem is you have to sift through it.

  • 3 months later...

Right there on the same page, left hand column, is every link - right clink and "Open in New". Change the Language to Dutch (NLD).

It is not as easy as replacing 3 letter in each link. The link location is different for each kb. I'm looking to make a french CD and I'm trying to see what KB are available from a WSUS Offline download. For some missing KB I can't find a download link other than ENU (WindowsXP-KB892130-ENU-x86.exe ?). I'll see further for those needed to make the cab files (3 of the 10 cab files have been built, I guess they are based on non localized files).

Make one more! I just finished making it for ENU. See code below and refer to HFSLIP does not register UiAutomationCore.dll (in KB2564958).
